Rubato: only emphasize one point in a frase. Make it as simple as possible. It doesn't add to the phrase to insert too many ideas.... Yes, Albrecht. You are absolutely right.

Sooooo beautiful playing Mrs!!! I played the oboe a few months... I was coming from 3 years of flute... I did not think the flute was manly enough for me... and soooo.... yeah.... the oboe.... Hmmmm, wow tough instrument!! The fingerings not so much, but the EMBOUCHURE!!! Oh boy.... I gave it up... The oboe is the most beautiful instrument in the world.... I'm still mourning it ahahah!! The oboe can bring tears to my face.... that's not manly isn't it? 😁 And.... so... I've been on the clarinet for 1 year, at the time of writing these lines.... The clarinet embouchure has some challenges, but nothing compared to the oboe... But hey YOU!!!!!! YES, YOU, READING THIS!!!! Do not underestimate the difficulty of playing the clarinet... the fingerings are WAYYYYYYYY more difficult than the oboe or the flute..... But.... let's come back to this wonderful lady oboist.... You made my day lady...... SOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! Oh.... and I am happy on the clarinet now... 😁

The right reed can make all the difference on the oboe. I'm not saying it's easy, but those mass-produced reeds you buy as a beginner are simply wretched. Playing the oboe can and should feel like singing.

To hold a master class, is always a special thing. But he can really convincing, despite a degree of arrogance which is however compensated by enough humor. It is surprising how often he posits the oboe, but does not play. Whether the girl has really blown the ultimate interpretation?

I'm surprised by their posture, max looks the same as her, arms very close to the body, oboe looking down to the floor. Holding the instrument a bit higher and opening yourself to the audience should help to get more out of the oboe. With the technic they have, they could really do great things !

Glaude Paysan You’re confusing American oboe playing with European. Two very different ways to play the same instrument. However it’s quite interesting because we (oboist) often will mix the two to make a very personal sound. I think in this video we see two very amazing musicians with polar opposite styles. There’s hundreds if not thousands of oboe doctoral dissertations on these contrasting ways and quite interesting to read if you’re really that interested.

That's subjective. Mary's tone sounds better because she is well warmed up and ready for performance, whereas Albrecht is merely demonstrating. She is a great artist in her own right, but Albrecht is far more experienced and masterful.

@bassoonbassoon1236
@bassoonbassoon1236 3 жыл бұрын
@@stormingbob Albrecht's tone is far better even if he isn't warmed up. That's where subjectivity comes. The European oboe sound is much richer in overtones and leaves a hall resonating.
