Carnival Themed 3rd Birthday Party Prep|| Upsherin Party Prep || Carnival Circus Themed 3rd Birthday || Sonya’s Prep|| Orthodox Jewish
Join me in my prep for my sons 3rd birthday. I went with a circus/carnival theme this time and love how it came out.
Upsherin literally means to cut off. This marks the first time that a child gets to have his hair cut. They go from being babies to “big boys.”
I always try to make this day very special for them with lots of fun activities and of course delicious foods.

I think you're an amazing mom! It's refreshing to see these days. I have no kids but was a nanny for many, many years and always included the kids in the prep and cooking process (if age appropriate). They love getting messy, learning, and helping.

I appreciate your mentioning that you ordered several hot food entrees. Too many women put excessive pressure on themselves with unrealistic expectations. There is nothing wrong with combining home made and prepared foods for a party or other event. Everything looks delicious!

I am not certain how your channel popped up on my news feed last week but I am truly happy it did. It has been a pleasure watching your videos and this one was no exception. Growing up in one of Montreal's biggest Jewish communities I am very familiar with so many aspects of your culture. However, I didn't realize boys get their first haircut at 3. I am Greek Orthodox and a baby's hair cut, boy or girl, is done in church during their baptism. The priest cuts a lock of hair for symbolic purposes. No hair cut is permitted any time before. You are blessed with a beautiful family and we are blessed you have chosen to share them with us. You are so well poised and comfortable behind the camera. Best of luck with your channel.

What a beautiful name for your son, and I cried when his hair was cut! I remember each of my six children at 3 years old and our tradition of the hair cutting. What a lovely, fun time for you all and a fantastic job on the celebration. :)

I love your channel. I’m not Jewish, I am Catholic. However, I love learning about other cultures and your cooking is beautiful! I have a three year old little boy and a three month old little girl. I do let my little boy cook with me if it’s something I can do that’s easy for him to help with. I get nervous with things like meat and knives with him around. I do try to include him as much as I can.

My youngest daughter would cry for me to let her use a knife. I was always worried too. After seeing kids masterchef I realized that as long as she is next to me and I’m guiding her, I should let her explore and learn. But it is still scary but she truly is a natural.

I have learned so much as well, I was raised in a Bible church, we now go to a Baptist church, but I believe we are all Christians if we believe in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, but seeing the differences in how we teach the Bible is very interesting.

I love all of your videos!!! I am a fan of yours!! I’m 68 now, but I had 2 children and they were taught to cook. My son learned many recipes. My daughter always helped me cook when ever we had a big family dinner. She had started taking on more cooking in 2004. But my beautiful 23 yr. Old daughter was killed in a car accident, on her way to work. A car came into Stacy’s lane of traffic hitting her car…. I love watching your children, they bring a smile to my face!!!

Great idea to put the cream first in to the plastic bag, cut off the end and then put it in the piping bag! I do not decorate very often, but when I do, it takes me forever to transfer the cream in to the piping bag. Loving your channel, I admire your energy and organization, brings back memories of when my kids were small and used to help me in the kitchen (they cook a lot even now when grown up 😀). So inspiring, thanks so much for sharing!! My daughter's 17 months old and she's been helping me "cook" since she was about 10 months old. She absolutely loves it (and so do I because it means zero screen time for her, woop!) even if it means I have to basically clean the entire kitchen when we're done, hahaha! Your five year daughter has good control with her hands (eg.egg washing food items in other videos) and that is good skill to possess, how to cook. We live by way of God's gift to use, food. And as you said, they are learning so much, including following directions, patience and appreciation for food - but also by example of hard working momma who does so much for the family.

It’s all so beautiful. Your son is so lucky to have you a his mom. I just absolutely adore your children. Your theme parties are the best. And the food you make, wow, my address is …… you can send me leftovers, especially Tabouli. It’s ok Sonya my baby turns 37 at Christmas and my grandkids are almost 19, 17.5, 15.3/4, (she is in the process of being adopted into our family) 11.3/4. The last one is a New Year Eve grandson. I feel ancient and I’m only 59. I just adore your kiddos

I have 10 children and they all cooked with me now some of them cook better than I do and my grandchildren are cooking too they all love to .I turned the holiday dinners and entertaining over to them now so they take turns and I just enjoy without the work.Happy Birthday to your son.my youngest is 23 now

@@SonyasPrep I had three than we adopted one thing I learned very soon was routine was important I had schedules on the bathroom doors so everyone knew who day it was to bath and on my pantry door I had that weeks meals and chore lists and any appointments that the kids had as long as things were wrote down it was easier than even I knew what was happening and no surprises as the kids got older they learn to add to the list if they want me at a concert or school or sports event

Mazel Tov and happy birthday to your little man! 🎂🥳🎁🥳🎂 He’s adorable! My “kids” are 46 and 44. My older son loved cooking and baking from a young age. He actually went into chef training and worked in the industry until he decided he needed a change and went into welding! I do still sometimes cook with them. We have a lot of fun creating and then enjoying the fruits of our labour. As a matter of fact my older son just sent me a picture of his banana bread he’s bringing for our Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend! My younger son loved grilling, but hated cooking. Since Covid, he’s learned to enjoy cooking as well. Better late than never I always say! 😁

Mine are all grown. I have 4. Every night a child helped in the kitchen. They took turns that way I got one on one time with them.

My little guy is 2 and a half and he always wants to help me in the kitchen. He always says "step" whenever I go to the kitchen because he wants the step stool so he can reach the counter. Children are such a blessing. It looks like you all had a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing!

My daughter's are 23, 22 and 20. I find it shocking that people would question you about hot dogs since there's so many varieties of kosher hot dogs at grocery stores. I'm not Jewish but I prefer the kosher hot dogs because they're more flavorful. I adore your videos and appreciate so much that you're educating us on traditions.
