Finally someone explaining the reasoning behind moves like bishop bd3, rather than saying it's 'obviously a good move' or giving no reason at all... Great lesson!

That whole sequence ending at 14:08 with the maneuvering by the black kn was a thing of aesthetic appreciation. That Kn made its way around the board, proving to be a general nuisance to white : ) Love it! I mean, it literally side stepped the f3 pwn and got right back onto e4 outpost. What a stud!

does anyone know how to play against 4.Nf3? It is BY FAR the most common move online and NO ONE talks about it!

Such a pity that I can't watch it live because I'm in a different time zone. Thank you so much for these videos, NM Caleb Denby!

I started the CK and I find that e5 outpost for white Knight or Bishop naturally develops for white and is a thorn in black's eye very often. So, part of the reason I watch this vid (aside from learning the CK in general), is to specifically see how black handles it.

This seems rather specific . . . could you elaborate on this, as many of us are not privy to the inside joke? thx. I am not saying it is a joke. I am just saying we need a bit of back ground information to appreciate the depth of this comment. thx.

@@pokerchannel6991 I think he/she is just simply saying imagine learning from this channel well enough to the point that you go to a tournament and beat the people from Saint Louis chess club themselves

@@justinkeefe3456 oh. damn. I just re read the sentence and yeah. It is clear now. Damn! I should have read the sentence more clearly. It seems pretty clear now. But, at the time, I read the sentence differently and I thought the original poster was saying something more specific. But, it is more a general statement about the high quality of teaching. Yeah, I get the sentence now. thx

You simply have no idea about serious tournament chess. Most of your ideas must come from Beth Harmon and the TV fantasy "The Queen's Gambit".

Most of the people who watch this have no understanding of what it takes to be a good chess player. Caleb Denby could probably beat me giving me odds of 5 minutes to 1 minute for the game and 30=40 years ago I was a USCF Expert rated player for 400 consecutive games. Rod Laver can no longer compete with any top 100 player in the WTA let alone someone like Ashleigh Barty. Time flies whether you're having fun or not.
