Love the additions on defense and the depth pieces they’ve brought in, but still MAJOR questions about goal scoring after the top guys.

Necas doesn’t play much D and the wingers typically bring the puck into the offensive zone. He does a good job leading the charge as a winger and rarely goes into the corners to get the puck (the way a center does). He really doesn’t like to get hit.

Look at it this way, we were "over" stacked last year on the blueline. Offensively we're where we were last year pre-Guentzel. The sky has not fallen. I totally understand the frustration, I too feel it. I've had more than a few new gray hairs since July 1st.... But I don't think we're much worse for wear than where we started last season just closer to on par with most clubs on the blue line. I'll take Svech, Jarvis, Aho, Slavin as a core 4. Keep building. The window is open for the core.

Better UFA class next year is expected and honestly there will be guys looking for jobs from our pipeline next season. This is a stopgap year.

Watch and see how the team does before you cry. You can't have a stacked team every single year. There was almost certainly tampering with the Guentzel situation and Tampa; that led to expecting to sign Jake and having to sacrifice Turbo, Skjei and Pesce. Whoops. Poop happens, pick it up and move on. So the team made some really smart signings so far during FA. You don't go break the bank on silly deals on July 1st, this franchise has never done that so if you were expecting that I'm so sorry but you were not paying attention. The coach is great, the goaltending is more than league average, the D is still excellent although weaker and different, and the offense is nearly unchanged. Turbo was seriously declining here, Noesen is not a guy you pay to play in your bottom 6 most of the time when you cna replace him easily for cheaper. The big loss is BOTH Skjei AND Pesce. One of them would have been expected but to lose Pesce sucks. I think he wanted to go home which is far and I think Skjei took a pay day which is fair. Deals can still happen. There is more than enough money to sign the RFA class and if we don't move Necas, we retain a really good player. You're being silly. Matt , Well said I've been with the team since the the beginning in Hartford when I was a little kid and if this breaks someone's Fee Fees as a fan then bye cause this team had had far far far worst lows than this year is going to be .
