I have been diagnosed with mild Carpal Tunnel in left hand & moderate Carpal Tunnel in my right (dominant hand). I also have a diagnoses of problems in 4 disks in my neck, including the c-6 (& in my lower back L4-L5,L6,S1 & my tail bone is gone. When I had MRI's to see what was going on with these pains in my back & neck, I ended up in P.T. Physical therapy. I was having in my hands EXTREME pain, complete numbing, pins and needles..Also very frequent headaches, & some of my toes were going numb. I thought my carpal tunnel was worsening with my hands because of my job (casino dealer & I use both my hands equally in my career. There's not exactly left or right handed when u deal. U use both). I was told those are the signs it's definately all coming from my neck!! (I was concerned about neuropathy, diabetes, or something worse with numbing in my toes. I didn't think to tell them about it, but they asked me if I had various symptoms in my toes & if I was having headaches. I wouldn't even have thought they were related to my disk issues, or esp in my neck)! I do not have the pain you described down my arm though(THANKFULLY). At P.T, they would pull & stretch my neck out, turning it, & do things manipulating it for me which along with my p.t. for my back improved all my symptoms! But now 2 yrs later, they have returned with vengeance! Waaay worse. P.t. told me to do neck rolls & ensure I'm holding my neck up straight, sitting/walking/standing shoulder blades squeezed - better posture, & esp because my neck and back both likes to lean to the left. I look down all night at work dealing only poker now, but I was dealing roulette mostly, a lot of craps, & other games. I've been dealing almost 20 years. I keep thinking about all the information given about staring down at our phones, the damage it does with all tge additional pounds of pressure it puts on our necks. I've had 20 or more years of it (administrator/ office management, lots of typing (yes typing) computer work too, filing, etc. Anyway, at the tables at work, I do all those those recommendations, but it has returned. Sometimes I'm dealing & I cannot actually feel the cards in my fingers or the tips to pitch them out, shuffle, or cut the cheques. 😢😭😭 ♡My hands are EVERYTHING TO ME-- like a surgeon! Idk what to do!?! If i should try a chiropractor, or what? Hand specialist? Who else do u see? My Dr said try a PMR, but i don't take anything but Motrin 800 for the pain when it starts hoping to reduce any inflammation somewhere so it stops. This may sound weird to u, & idk why, but my carpal tunnel symptoms, before the neck stuff started, was bad! I didn't believe mild & moderate like the neurologist said because I could not hold my hairbrush & brush my hair without so much pain (I'm talking a 10) & weakness in my hands, I was in complete tears devastated every time (plus I have naturally curly hair). So..... I went back onto birth control (nuva ring) & for idk whatever reason, my carpal tunnel symptoms improved!!! They were definately sooo much more tolerable & I could do more things without crying. Still there tho. Lol. HOWEVER, my neck disk thing that must be somehow affecting my nerves has me so frightened! Idk what to do. -Recently I discovered my vitamin B-12 is running on the lower end too (291 but I also take folic acid which could inflate my number). That is one piece you did not cover in your video as also a possibility for numbing, tingling, burning pain in hands that might seem like carpal tunnel. Low vitamin B-12 could be a culprit. **sorry it's so long. This is so painful, confusing, & frustrating. That's why I'm here researching.**

Nice playing :) could you discuss about Ulnar Nerve entrapment, damage atrophy and how long before damage is permanent (and does Benediction sign always indicate irreversible damage?) can it always be picked up on EMGs? (or if they think is carpal tunnel instead of ulnar thus placing the electrodes in the wrong place?) What about ALS or other MNDs that start to affect the hand primarily (would the weakness or the burning sensation that is experienced with ulnar nerve damage or whatnot, while using the arm or hand occur? How can you detect the muscle starting to atrophy? Visually? Not just reduced grip and the paper grip test. But not sure if that’s more for radial nerve and muscle group of the hand; I take sensory nerves would not be affected or not too much with ALS as it primarily affects the Lower motor nerves thus sensory symptoms not very likely to occur; and what about cubital syndrome? (Hope I’m not mispronouncing it, been a while :) ) sorry so many Qs but just curious as sometimes reading 📖 on textbooks, journals etc is not the same; Thank you for the explanations: you’re very clear, calm and I like the fact that you’re not 1 to say the numbers are set which more often than not as people differ so do the numbers, slightly but they do like in orthostatic hypotension as you explained. :) looking forward for more neuro videos from you really enjoying to learn from you or clearing up things was perhaps confused about. Does repetitive nerve conduction tests have a place here? (ones for aiding in the dxs of myasthenia gravis or LEMS or other conditions like MSA it not mistaken...okay I’ll end here) Much love & keep on playing! I have had problems with one of my left fingers (ring finger) ... it started to get stuck especially at night and when I get up I have to pull it open. I went to an orthopedic Dr who gave me a shot of something and said it was a 'nodule' that developed. I used to play guitar alot for years and then didn't play for a long time... I've had this problem since I started playing again. The nodule is coming back unfortunately as I am playing guitar again.... not sure what to do. Very cool that you play the guitar btw
