I'm still here. I Love Ireland & the Irish People. And I think are the BEST in the World. To understand my point of view, need first to know about History, and after that, live here. 'Tis a beautiful song for a beautiful place. Whenever I hear it, I remember a certain tiny black-haired woman who gently brought enormous changes into my life.

This man sings carrickfergus the best.

That little smile at 2:07 always gets me. I’m not familiar with the members of this group, but seeing the singer acknowledging his friend’s banjo playing, even with just a quick wry smile, is like seeing his youth come back, if only for a moment.

Jim McCann , not just a wonderful balladeer and musician, but a man of extraordinary intellect, an avid reader and above all a beautiful man, a soft spoken giant , a loving humble friend. Phyl , his loving wife cared for him in the several years of need , she worked in Ranelagh D6 for many years , sadly passed from cancer around April 2018. Sometimes we are lucky to meet our hero, but it was more, I was lucky and fulfilled to know them both ❤️❤️🙏
