Sheryl's voice sounds coarse compared to Linda's - to me. While the notes in the harmonies are close if nit the same, the collection of voices sound more like a competition among a froup of divas to me than blended harmonies. I sang the 3rd harmony with a married couple where the girl sounded like Linda and I still believe we BLENDED better. We listened to each other as we sang. We didn't compete with each other.

It's also quite sad.

@@BethelAbba Sorry if my comment offended you. All voices are unique but Linda’s voice is beyond beautiful. They were there to pay tribute to a person who can no longer sing. Each have their own range but Linda could sing them all. Those women are all superstars and have contributed to the music world no argument from me and I have their albums.

I guess I need to clarify for the you missed a spot guys. Yes I am aware that she did not have the original version. What struck me when I heard this version by these singers, all accomplished, all outstanding vocalists, is that she was just on another level. So I guess my original comment should have been that every time I hear other female singers perform a song that Linda also performed that it just reaffirms for me that she was absolutely the best.

Wellllll.....they did a great job here, and the whole band. We'll see where you and I are at in our 60s and 70s. They may not have been perfect, but they did a great job and they look like they were having fun....that's what it's all about.

Carrie did an excellent cover of the classic Guns N Roses song; "Paradise City" at the 2013 CMT music fest which you can find on KZfaq, Carrie is a big Guns N Roses fans and has done songs by them like "Sweet Child of Mine" in concert as well.

As any singer knows, just because you can, does not mean you do. Carrie Underwood is the youngest in the group and clearly has the vocal prowess to do the song major justice, but the fact that she is on stage with some older gals whose vocals are not what they used to be, she did not put everything she could into that song, Sometimes, respecting your elders and not showing them up, is more important than being the brightest of the shining stars.
