Lovely video and a joy to see you carrying on family traditions. This video probably took more out of you than you expected. We are okay to watch some shorter videos for the next few months as you rest and enjoy baby snuggles. I am sure it took you as long to edit as it did to film. You are amazing and we don't want you getting ran down. You give yourself grace in the kitchen and we give you grace to navigate new motherhood and your working schedule. This is the advice I would tell my own daughter, so please don't think I am being critical, just concerned for you mama.

I don’t think keeping baby’s name private has anything to do with consent from the baby…it has everything to do with not exploiting your own child. She will share what she feels comfortable sharing and that’s it. She is sharing her love of cooking and living off of her acreage… The care for her child may come into this channel from time to time, but that’s even more than I would expect. There are several channels that do not show their children, although we know they have them and they are part of why they do what they do. Farmhouse on Boone and Jamerrill… It’s all good! There are creepers everywhere, you want your child safe, so does she!!!

Thank you for taking care of yourself and upholding your boundaries! Unrelated, but I follow some foster care channels that use letters (Miss A, for example) when referring to children/teens in their care. I think the solution you have decided on is natural and works for you. The number of supporters you have in the comments is one of the things I'm grateful for in this community. Adding the M&Ms to the top of the cookies made me smile and remember my Grandmother. She was a young mother during the Depression. The frugal habits she acquired then and during the rationing of WWII remained with her throughout her life. When she made chocolate chip cookies, she would not put the chips in the dough, but would carefully place three - exactly three - chips on the top of each cookie. This gave one per bite, and let a bag if chips last, for what seemed to me, forever. She has been gone for over 35 years. Thanks for the smile and memory. I may make my own grandchildren some of "Grandma's Chocolate Chip Cookies" and share the story with them, later this week.

Normally I don't read the comments here...and I am surprised there are several negative ones....but I think most of Becky's followers came and stayed for her real life gardening and cooking tips. In that process we have learned what a beautiful person she is and how much she loves her family. We also were and are excited for the addition of her son and know she will be a wonderful Mom. BUT .... I will stay as a subscriber because of her home content, NOT for what personal information I can get. Keep doing you Becky and we will be here. Thank you for all the knowledge you have shared !!!

Hi Becky, as said by others. I am overwhelmed with everything you can do after you just recovered from everything you've gone through. You are a strong woman, don't let others tell you otherwhise. But also don't feel quilty if you take it easy love. I also wanted to tell you that if you don't breastfeed and you didn't know it: you can always start doing it! So if you wish you can re-lactate and start doing it even if your baby is used to te bottle now. You don't need to tell us about it, I just felt I needed tot say it because I know some moms who wished they knew it earlier!

Becky, kudos to you for honouring Josh’s Dutch heritage and making a real Dutch Christmas treat (banket). It is often made in a staaf (stick) form and can also be made in rings, like a wreath. I loved that you made your own almond paste because it is indeed, expensive. Phyllo pastry also works really well for the crust. I think you did a great job though and it looked very yummy!

One reason I love your videos is because it’s drama free, transparent and real . I’m glad I missed the “ name drama” some are speaking of. What a beautiful family you have, cherish and protect it always. I was am going to try your recipes for the New Year but unfortunately came down with Covid ( me and my sweet hubby) so watching you back in the kitchen has brought me so much joy even more so right now while feeling bad. Thanks for sharing another great video with us, Becky! Between gardening, cooking, and baking - that is what family traditions are all about and something that takes those endeavors to such a nice place! My husband and I have a grape arbor where he transplanted the grape vine from him grandmother’s (who transplanted that from an older house). My husband grew up with homemade grape jelly. This was our first year getting a harvest and man was I nervous to make up jelly for the first time. He came home from work, gave it a taste, and said it was just as he remembered. (Whew, that was when I wiped the brow sweat that had saturated my face all day)! Take care! Lydia from Sweet Kings Garden

Becky, Josh, and Baby A…..Happy, Happy New Year! May God bless your new family. I’m sure you didn’t miss your connection this year to the precious reason we celebrate Christmas!! I did spend some time in prayer for you guys and kept thinking of that Holy Family at the First Christmas, also cloistering, taking time to admire their Baby and adjust to their sudden ‘familyness,’ receiving gifts and well-wishes, and taking in the great blessings that new life brings. May St. Joseph, Protector of Families, pray for you both. You look fabulous! You are even glowing with that new mommy softness. Baby A is so lucky! I’m going to make your spice cookies TODAY (spice-y gingerbread-y things are my favorite) and I’m chomping to try the Banquette because I’ve never even heard of them! We do all the Scandinavian treats. I’m excited for you that you already are creating annual traditions for your own family!! May Did Baby A get some First Ornaments?? By the way I love that she calls the baby "baby acre". It's like a reference to the fact that he was conceived and born during Becky's acre homestead journey. With the many unconventional baby names out there "north, apple, blue..." acre could very well be a baby name or nickname. People are way too dramatic. Becky you don't need any of us to say it, but share what you want and keep private what you want to keep private. You can't please everyone, haters gonna hate. Happy new year to you and this mostly wonderful community.
