What about frictiondynamic (no wheels but instead magnets that do the job. ) That would be making the train to WAYY FASTER Also. What if we dug close to center of Earth. Where we then put said tunnel. That would be even faster. The elevator should be a secure solution where it was for example not going on power. but say we use Earth's magnet (yes world's biggest magnet is straight through earth!!?) To push it up and down.
