The 2025 Ford Tourneo is the next step in the transformation of the Blue Oval's Australian model line-up. While the American brand is abandoning traditional passenger cars and even SUVs in alarming numbers, the new eight-seat people mover is looking to drive growth instead, particularly with family-car buyers and fleet operators.
The Tourneo is based on Ford's second-generation Transit Custom mid-size van, with it adding two extra rows of three-seat benches to accomodate up to eight passengers. As such, it finds itself directly in the crosshairs of the best-selling Kia Carnival as well as the similarly van-based Hyundai Staria and Volkswagen Multivan.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Byron Mathioudakis travels to Germany to get an early taste of the new Tourneo, to find out how well it and its 125kW/390Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine stack up against the competition.
