bellofello1 Yeah, the eyepiece I was using in this video has a slight taper which may be causing part of the problem. Many scopes will have parallel tubes for eye pieces which should work better.

Ryan P Difficult to answer directly. Generally speaking, anything magnum or with oversized cases / necked down cases. My understanding is that this is a problem of friction and heat. The faster you punch out the bullet, the less life you will get from the barrel, due to higher heat generated on each shot. Lets not forget that most rifles are accelerating metal directly against metal to 3 times the speed of sound. So, long life in a barrel will generally come in the form of slower velocities, and less powder usage. You also need to define your precision expectations. Many competitive shooters will not use a barrel in competitions, after it hits about the 1000 round mark. BUT, they will drop that barrel into a hunting rifle. I pulled my .308 barrel off at about 4500 rnds, mostly because I wanted better groups. But the old barrel is still in my safe because it was still capable of sub-MOA groups when I pulled it off.

I have the Carson adapter, and attempt to take astrophotos with my telescope. It's fits on some eyepieces better than others, but the main problem is that it's very difficult to get it lined up so I can see the object in the phone camera. I'd be interested in getting an adapter that works better. I checked your website, and didn't see any such item. Do you still have any? I know it's been 3 years.
