This video was taken during our P&O Britannia Mediterranean Cruise in September/October 2021.
This cruise port stop was at Cartagena in Spain.
We really enjoyed our day here, and there is definitely lots to do and see around the immediate port area. We started by looking around the shops on the main road just opposite the cruise terminal where there was a good variety of different shops and prices seemed reasonable.
We then walked up to the area around Parque Arqueológico Cerro del Molinete. This was pleasant and some god views across the city.
From that viewpoint we could see that there was another good hill/castle closer back towards the port so we decided to head for that. We do like high up vantage points :)
This brought us to the Parque Torres and also Castillo de la Concepción. The park area is free to wander around and the Castle was only about $4 to look around. We aren't really into history too much, but do like a nice view :)
Walking down from the Castle gave a good opportunity to look at the Teatro Romano de Cartagena which was quite impressive. I'm sure for anyone a little more into history, paying to go in and look around would be well worth it, just not for us :) ..... Although I would have like to go in, sit down and recite the "what have the roman's ever done for us" sketch from Monty Python :)
