Even without the gearbox whine a new clutch would almost certainly send it to the scrap heap at that age for most people if you had to get it done at a garage. It's crazy the things cars get scrapped for in this country because of £60 ph labour costs. Great video 👌.

I bought a 2008 Citroen C3 1.4hdi for £300 - only needed a new battery - and I've run it for nearly three years with little expense......doing 22,000/23,000 miles per year it would be difficult to have cheaper motoring. All cars are best kept running!

The alloys are in fact quite posh. They are 15 inch and were from a 208 in middle-of-the-range Active spec, from 2012 to 2019. After a good clean, I would say they would be worth keeping. Though maybe not the tyres.

I got nearly 500 quid scrapping a shite old Kia Sportage that didn't run or drive. Gotta love the comparison sites. Ended up going out to Northwich Metals, so not a million miles from me (I'm in Winsford) Good shout moving it on, pal.

If it only needed one biggish thing then I could understand saving it but as you say that will want a load of work in every area and not worth the effort or time sadly. Enjoying the channel, especially the auction visits.

I last year bought a lovely mazda CX5 that needed a door ,got one from a breaker painted it and went 20 miles The engine went (the blocked sump strainer problem) lost about a grand but it was just scrap value so bit the bullet and managed to smile.You have to don't you

Diesels always get abused , rare to find once in good nick , I once bought a £2 grand Fiesta 2008 model 1.4tdi and it was awful it only had 56 thousand on the clock but exploded on the M40 the injector let go and it caught fire , never will buy a diesel again , Japanese petrol cars seem to be the ones to go for never had an issue.

So will the scrap yard remove every last nut and bolt, everything taken of any value or is it straight to the crusher?
