This Carver One is an intriguing blend of bike and car, with a unique tilting body that gives it remarkable agility through corners. While not especially practical, the Carver received praise from across the motoring press at its launch. When it appeared on the BBC’s Top Gear programme, Jeremy Clarkson said: “I have to say, absolute hand on heart, I've never had so much fun in a car”.
James Little, @littlejameslittle gets behind the wheel and has a good look around this Carver One, being auctioned on Collecting Cars.

The reason these monstrosities are not in production is because they take up the same amount of road space as a useful small car. Right, that's the main problem. Expensive. Result? Nobody actually bought it. Let's hope the secondhand ones are getting into affordable price ranges. They hesitate, until its faith is sealed. That happens all the time to any great new vehicle.

Wish it had two wheels up front even with the leaning. The leaning would put the weight in a better place than a traditional car, and the two wheels up front would almost double the braking power. We all know rear brakes are like 10-15% of the cars total braking. Having two wheels would allow for a little more robust front runner - I don’t doubt frequent front tire changes are necessary.

@nicklockard
@nicklockard 3 жыл бұрын
@@minero1775 LOL. No, I also drive cars. What I'm saying is your body and brain rapidly acclimate, typically five to ten minutes. You know that feeling you get when you've been skating or ice skating, then stop? It feels weird for 10 minutes because your brain is used to moving a certain way. I've taught several people to ride passenger on motorcycles. Getting over that initial fear of 'falling' takes about 5 turns. Pretty soon you realize that the HARDER you've leaned over, the MORE stable the system has become. It's all physics. Leaning is far more stable than not, because you lower your center of gravity more the harder you lean, thus making it much harder to tip over. I do get it if it is not for you; I'm just proposing to not fear it because you've no experience with it or don't understand it. Stay neutral until you've tried it a few times--the brain is super adaptive and wants, no CRAVES to learn and do new things--well mine does.
