Been carving for a year or so and just wanted to thank you and say you’ve been by far the most influential carver I’ve found on FB. I know some people like audio commentary but for me your videos are perfect. I just study your technique. Anyway I’ve come a long way ( I think) and watching your videos has helped me more than anything. Thanks, Kevin. You’re a very talented artist.

I always enjoy watching art being created by the artist, the act of creating is also art.

Holy mackerel! That is a superb piece of artwork. Anyone can find a piece of pine and a broken knife hanging around and have a go at this. The satisfaction of creating a piece of art is beyond belief , and the glow seems to last for a good while afterwards. Thank you Kevin for your inspirational video.

Wonderful carving Kevin! You make it look so easy. My son Alex has been working on something similar in between other carvings. He's carving a lid for a humidor box with some type of caricature on it. Thanks for the video👍

Brilliant! I couldn't draw the thing with a pencil and here we have Kevin the carver creating with a broken knife. This true art. Well done!
@Rancanfish3 жыл бұрын
Nice work indeed. However, that is not a broken knife. I was issued the same knife working in a paper mill. We used it to cut a layer out of a paper roll to do a splice. Turn it backward and push hard, it will cut an inch deep. I still have mine from 1974.

Hi Kevin. This carving looks just like a Bossons Head carving my mother bought in Estes Park CO when I was about five years old. Except it was a replica in plaster of Paris. She hung it on a wall in our family room for many years. I’m pretty sure she still has it and that has got to be over 50 years ago now. Thank you for showing us this method of wood carving. You are fantastic my friend!!!

Growing up, I had a neighbor who had a shed behind his house that was somewhat of a museum. It was filled with his carvings from tiny shoes, to elaborate moving cravings. His work was magical. He made growing up where I did a great thing.

Kevin and his broken steak knife amazes me every time. If I didn’t see it, I’d swear he was carving soap or wax. I have sharp, great knives, and good basswood, but never seem to carve any stop-cuts or detail, nearly as clean as this. Unbelievable!
@TheRoadDawg4 жыл бұрын
Before every one corrects me... I know it’s a broken Dexter Russell Filer knife, previously 7”. It just looks like several Steak knives I have in a kitchen drawer. It’s not the knife,or the wood...it’s the Carver. There is no substitute for talent and experience combined. Kevin clearly has an abundance of both!
