Carving an Elm bonsai in 1 minute

8 hours of carving an Ulmus glabra/Whych Elm bonsai this week, compressed down into under 1 minute!
Using a chainsaw, angle-grinder, makita die-grinder, Dremel and ash to help shape and carve the very strong deadwood. This part of the tree is already dead and the idea of the woodcarving is to make the wood appear older, even ancient.
This was commission work on a tree owned by Nick Petrides.

Always great to see the results of your carving skill, Harry. I paused the video at 0:46 and, to my eyes, first I saw a bird in a nest popping it's head and beak up at the top of the screen. Then, looking lower down, I saw (bear with me on this) an angel fish. All of course very subjective and heavily dependent on the eyes of the viewer, but to me the carving is wonderfully evocative and enhances the tree beautifully. Another superb example of carving by a master of the art!

Hi Harry. You probably don't remember me, but back in 2008 or possibly 2007 I don't remember exactly. You allowed me to interview you for a college paper. I got an A on the paper, but I never did graduate. I actually ended up joining the military. Just wanted to say hi and was curious if you still remembered that.

Hi Joshua, I have tbh I don’t although I remember doing a few projects/interviews with folks over the years. My memory isn’t what it should be anymore!
