Some of you may remember that I reviewed the big Kodiaq back in December 2016, but now I’ve got my hands on the UK version, complete with right hand driving position to give you guys the usual full review. As you all probably know, this is Skoda’s first attempt at a seven-seater SUV and thus far, the Kodiaq has received glowing reviews which will help it compete against key rivals such as the Seat Ateca or Peugeot 3008. Skoda has also equipped the Kodiaq with a lengthy options list, could this also help the Kodiaq compete with more premium rivals? Let’s find out!

Did you try to close the window? Parts from CZ are much more foolproof then parts from Germany (check stats for DSG)...

In Australia we have 4 models, a 132tsi and 132tsi Sportline and 140tdi and 140 TDi Sportline, I have a tsi Sportline with absolutely everything, 360 camera, blindspot, lane assist and different driving modes

My Octavia is 11 years old, and after almost 300.000 km still runs very good. Oils, filters and gas is all she needs. I like the Kodiak. Maybe my next car... when they become available as second hand vehicles :)

I have a 2007 Octavia wagon. I bought a 2021 Kodiaq this year & love it. We kept the Octavia as a car for my mum to use when she visits as it still runs fine, just some paint issues.

I’m a VW owner and I have to admit, the Skoda is very cool. Also with VW, the sat nav, alcantara seats and LED lights are optional extras, whereas on this Skoda they are free on expensive models. I wouldn’t mind one! Lol.

Actually it's Škoda 130 Rapid. Not that it makes any difference, all these 80s Škoda cars were jokes. Not as bad as other Eastern bloc cars (good rustproofing, easy to maintain, great as rally cars) but not what the cars should have been if communism hadn't happened. The modern cars are just VWs with the only difference of being bigger and cheaper than their VW counterparts.

Great review. Love watching these segments. Can Carwow do a Kodiaq vs Discovery Sport and vs Asian counterpart like Santa Fe. SUVs are very popular in Australia and would love to see these comparisons since Skoda kodiaq has just been released down under. Great job guys.

That sneaky skoda rapid at 5:03 also I recommend buying a tempered glass screen protector because the basic one looks horrible peeling off in the corners.

Danm. My car gets only 28mpg and it only has a 1.5 110hp Petrol. My old car, which had a 0.8L 70hp diesel got 71mpg. This gets 40 which is amazing for an SUV! Definitely better than every other SUV here in Canada

I think the fact that you only have two baby seat points is a good safety feature if you get rear ended or maybe in a head-on collision

I am looking to purchase a Skoda Kodiaq. I am thinking of getting the Active (base model) with 2.0 diesel with 150hp FWD DSG. What do you think Mat? Is the 4x4 really worth the money? Thanks. Also congratulations on your new Suzuki Jimmny.

"First really desirable Skoda?" Depends on your aspirations of course but Skoda make some lovely cars, especially in decent spec.... Octavia RS, Superb Estate with 190 PS diesel in high trim.... and others. All great cars, with good residuals.... Residuals...now there is a good test of being desirable.

Probably because the Skoda kodiaq models start from 2017-2022 so they are the same until 2022 no difference unless it’s higher than 2022

Mat you need need to test the Peugeot 3008 1.6 petrol auto against this Karoq but as a 1.5 petrol with auto, these two cars must be best in class, but how would you rate them.

Guys a serious question: how do you turn off the infotainment display, but keep the radio on? I just don't want to be blinded by the display when driving at night. Thanks! Btw: the setting in the settings menu (turn off after 10s) is not sticky = it doesn't stay checked when you turn off the car. :(

Lennox Fitchett it is the same base as the Tiguan as the Touareg is with a different basic structure. The 5 Seat Kodiaq competes with the Tiguan

Skoda cracked it another very practical SUV my only criticism is it should have had ISOFIX on ALL seats apart from that it a very cool vehicle.

fun fact my dad rented this car via it's job, and skoda did shit on production of this car and we should receive it in 3 month if i remember and we got it past the 9 month of waiting but it is an awesome car but damn skodia miss the delivery launch for A LOT of customer for my dad working in a big renting car business he got some info about the process but it was a long waiting but right now he doesn't regret it at all
