Didn’t tie a few bales early but once I pulled the twine out to get to the unexposed twine it didn’t miss a bale.

I miss those days too. If I have to stack I would think 100 would be my limit.

I forgot to one farmer used the AC Roto baler, I had to pick them up and toss them to him as he stacked them on a small wagon, found out later that AC made a bale conver that ran beside the tractor to do it. I'm 57 and still love the smell of hay drying.😊😊😊

They are. Never broke a bale after the twine got sorted out.

The baler went unused from about 1955 until 2012. It was kept in a shed most of its life but was completely frozen up when I got it. After a lot of coaxing and penetrating oil it started to work. I would have kept the Wisconsin engine that originally powered it but the engine started leaking oil and when I had a chance to get a donor 130 baler with a pto drive I decided to go that way.

@@rogermiller7411 it is a whole lot more reliable without the Wisconsin motor on it. Grandpa had a few on the old New Holland balers and he and my Dad said when you started them in the morning you didn't shut them off till the end of the day. I know a man that has a couple Case balers and he always liked them. Thanks so much for sharing the videos. Good hearing from you too.

That’s a good idea. Once I get the shield for the flywheel on it I will do that.

My 130 has a stuffer that works like a woodpecker to stuff the hay or straw in the bale chamber ahead of the plunger. It’s amazing how many different ways manufacturers devised to do that.

Our Case dealer was a well known horse and cattle jockey and was one of the shadiest people in NE WI. We went to the dealer in the next town south and he was as honest as the day is long. I have developed a list of former Case dealers, now over 5800, over the past 30 years. Would you mind sharing the name and location of your local dealer to see if he is on the list? Thanks!

@@don66hotrod94 We had the local dealer in Belleville Illinois, H. Edwards. They were mostly into construction equipment after the Tenneco take over. They did much better in that market. there was a dealer south of me at Lenzberg Illinois/ New Athens area, .Feig? Not sure what name they operated under. Was later operated under a different owner till they closed in the 70s Was a dealer at Carlye Illinois, later went to White / Agco now.

The one I remember as a kid was McCurley in Lebanon Ohio

Definitely going to put the belt shield on but I don’t have the pto shield. Hard to find. I rigged up a step on the left front side of the tractor so I don’t have to get off it from the rear.

Super Diesel? If so, pretty rare and valuable. Always loved the look of the 400.

Mine runs all the time as well. I understand that is common for a 400 and can be fixed but a costly expense. When I hook up to my baler I turn the tractor off and then attach the baler pto shaft. When I start the tractor the pto doesn’t nun until I engage it with the pto lever. Not ideal but it’s safer to do it that way even if it was working right.

If the pto clutch is operating correctly, you can stop it with your hand. ( not recommended) We always put the power shaft up to it and let it chatter to a stop

The 400's didn't get a PTO brake until the Super Diesels came out, just before the 800 Case-o-matics came out. That means the PTO shaft will turn all the time as there is nothing to hold it fast when it is disengaged. Not much you can do to solve this.
