Grew up with a 1030 case. Was used for chisel plowing and baling. Has since been retired to a mowing and raking tractor.

The 1030 was a big tractor in the 60’s. It is one of my favorite Case tractors.

Hello Jason I farm in the Great Southern area of Western Australia.We have a Case 4994 which turn over 10000 hours this year and still going strong.Had a few problems with the electronic steering but managed to get sorted. Parts are becoming an issue, but the internet is a great way to access most parts.Great video,and to see there still going in the States.Cheers from the land down under..

That’s a cool tractor. I read about this Case 4994 tractor earlier this year with that Scania v-8 diesel engine. I’ve been to Lancaster County in Pennsylvania and it’s some pretty farm land there with all the dairy cattle and corn fields.

Great tractor. One of the 3 we farmed with was white like this one and had duals, tires were wider than these. We used a 19 shank sunflower and went a little deeper.

Very RARE to see a 4994 on singles doesn't look right.In Saskatchewan & Manitoba all were with duals 24.5-32 or 30.5-32. BUT A kickass tractor V8 SCANIA power. Would be a good Big bro to your D-V800 4786. Loved working on them back in the day

That 4994 is some awesome tractor. Nothing like old iron and raw horse power. My experience with JI Case was with a 870 Agriking tractor. It had the power shift transmission. We owned that tractor for many years. I used it mainly for utility work such as bush hogging, putting in food plots, clearing land, putting in, maintaining fire lanes and running stationary equipment such as log splitters. Good old tractor but that power shift could be dangerous. It could slip into gear while engine was ideling w/ tractor in neutral.😮

I have a CaseIH tractor but at the other end of the product and power range a CaseIH 1394 2wd tractor from the old David Brown tractor factory in Yorkshire England it is used for pasture care work and rowing up haylage ready for round baling

That tractor would roll along with that chisel all the way in the ground. Grew up on case tractors my dad worked at a case dealer in the late 70s and the first tractor I run was 1370 first year of power white. Still have it along with 2 other 13s a 22 and 2590 and 4490 are my dad's and I have a 1570 and 2870. We farm in mn on around 1000 acres. The 2290 runs hay equipment and planter the 2590 runs planter and sprayer tillage with the 15 28 and 44. And the 13s fill in all over the board. Have always wanted a 4994 with the Cummins 855 block. Only a few made.

The main thing is that this is a great opportunity to catch a tractor that saw just over 200 units built. The overall were running in drought conditions that made it hard. They were running a test area to see how tillage, vertical till and no till did for late season corn following rye.

I’ve run both 4 wheel steer (4166 IH) and articulated ( 8430, 8630 Deeres, IH 2+2, 855 Versatile) and always preferred the 4 wheel steer 4166. I felt it was more maneuverable and better ride and handling, besides not having all the extra drive shafts and u-joints.

One of my favorite old iron tractors. Not all of us old things go out to pasture to rot away. And best part of old iron .... NO DEF .... As a retired heavy equipment operator i couldn't stand when the equipment started needing DEF or it needed to sit for a while. Such nonsense to equates to NOTHING in the long run except higher cost and someone else getting rich.

i learned to drive in a David Brown 996 then learned to run loader in a Case 1390. That 4994 being a rare cross over would be better as the IH red but i assume the owner chose white for a specific reason

I am on the hunt to feature some David Brown tractors to feature in Case history. The 4994 is pretty rare either in white or red. Many of the red ones started out in white and were repainted at the factory following the merger.

I use a 1951 DC-3 to hobby farm . It pulls a 3 bottom Oliver plow and a 10' Brillion disc . I also have the original B series cultivator for it .

My grandpa used to have a 2wd case tractor about the size of a 1086 international with a loader and grapple, and that's what he used to feed his cows with in the winter

Hello everyone good vidéo big tractor Beast tractor from ji case white and great sound an operator friend of my boss and I have a ji case 4994 400 hp repower cummins 6 cylinder 500 hp and we bought a chisel plow 14 shank it's one of my American tractors in 4 wheel drive in my top 20 of the best American tractor already originally it makes a beautiful sound but with the 6 cylinder cummins repower now it is even more beautiful and especially in open pipe 500 hp of pure joy and this tractor one of our farmer friends outside of Alsace in France has found this tractor abandoned in an old shed the original engine was no longer running at all so we had the 6 cylinder Cummins imported which we boosted to 500 hp Beast european motor is v8 scania

Another thing I noticed about the tractor, it's design shows that all the weight seems to be at the front of the tractor so the power wouldn't be evenly spread on the drive axles, as I see it. Kevin Fox England UK

This was filmed in drought conditions. It was not working as desired but corn needed to go in after rye and this was the conditions for filming. With 224 4994 tractors built I will take any conditions anywhere to get to show one as nice as this one at work.

The 4212 is what the farm runs. It was running on drought conditions so it was not ideal tillage that day but the job needed to be done so corn could be planted.

Some as Hesston tractors and some older ones as Oliver tractors.

Case has always been a lower RPM running engines with great torque. Unlike the JD high RPM engines with low torque. I grew uo on a LA case very low rpm but great torque and power got a 930 case later in my early farming days also a lower rpm engine high torque. When I get on the deere anymore you have to Crack throttle wide open or you kill engine the old case you could start out under load at idle then open up throttle

Early Desert tan 1070 , great bend 900 loader used daily 19k+ hr for field work 1370 case jd8330 8295,8370....

This was late tillage in a drought. The farmer wanted to see how tillage vs vertical till vs no till. I am glad to have had the opportunity to feature a 4994 because it’s so rare and I saw this one brand new in 1985.

Farmed with 70 90 94 series. My dsl fuel supplier always sad get a green one so i could sell you 20 to 30 percent more fuel

The Traction King 4wds were big sellers for Case but ultimately Steiger was the number one name in 4wds. It would have been neat to see the fixed frame design go beyond the Steiger cross over 4 way steer 9260.

To me it doesn't look like the driver has the implement set correctly, the rear chisels seem to clear the ground. Kevin Fox England UK

This was filmed in late May and there was a drought. The farmer want to do an experiment and see how tied ground and no tied ground performed in these conditions. It was tough going for the chisel plow it could not get in the ground well. BTP got to see one of 224 of these 4994s ever built so that was a plus.

The whole chisel isn't in the ground, much of the time. You can see the tires aren't on the ground.

The beautiful sound of a working Scania V8. ❤️ That engine shares alot of history togheter with the Mack E9. Almost impossible to kill when maintained. Have a good one from a cold and snowy Sweden! ☃️

Looks like the soil was too hard from compaction that prevented the chisel plow from sinking to full depth.

@@M8Stealth Not all the ground could be so hard and the discs weren’t given much chance. Looks to me like the ground wheels were set too high which the lack of engine effort suggests too.

@@adrianchetwynd1334 Watch it again...the mainframe wheels (and front disk blades) are literally dangling in the air because the ground is too hard for the shanks to penetrate.
