Case Woodard grew up the oldest of 3 children in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York after spending his first few years of life in the Bronx. While he had his fair share of outdoor fun playing a variety of sports like basketball, baseball and football, inside his home, Case, and his siblings, were being raised under strict Jehovah’s Witness rules. So, since he had little fun at home, Case ran amuck at school and paid the price with endless punishments. Music entered his life from the moment he was born as his father was a professional singer and Case would reap the benefits of getting to soak up everything going on in the atmosphere. His father was also very old school and expected his son to leave the family home and begin his adult life as soon as he turned 18. Case jumped the gun and packed his bags the year prior. Things soon took an ominous turn though when Case began to engage in illegal activities to make a buck. That lifestyle, thankfully, was never what he planned to stick with long-term; a career in music was always the goal.

I also agree that the same people that make these comments ( and the ones that like these comments) probably don't support the artist's newer music and probably didn't support the old stuff either. Humans are so phony, disingenuous and attention-hungry that you rarely know how they truly feel about anything.

I always wondered what happened to him. I liked the first 3 albums. After the "Open letter (01)" album I 💭 that he wasn't going to make music anymore. But seeing this update proved me wrong. "Touch me, tease me" of course was the song that got me listening to him. He has a unique voice! Glad that he's back in the mix making music! Thanks for this update 👍!

Interesting... Case Woodard. I'm a fan from afar. I have strong attachments to certain records, but I was never fully invested in the man behind the music. He didn't do anything wrong. Some artists are good for a few records and some artists I'll go the extra mile for. Anyway, _Touch Me, Tease Me_ feat. Foxy Brown & Mary J. Blige defined my life in the 6th grade. I have really sunny memories behind that record. Whenever I hear it, I think of Stonestown Galleria and my lil' DKNY shades. After that, I love _Happily Ever After._ That one reminds me of a sweet lil' love note that was left in my locker and "a special someone" requesting it for me on the radio. After that, I love the record he did w/ R.L. and them and finally, 2008's _Lovely._ I love the _Lovely_ record because it reminds me so much of my uncle, Mr. Charlie Wilson. His voice on that record has always been clear in my mind's eye. Nah, vocally...well... Case wasn't my favorite singer. He's inoffensive on record, but live...WHEW! He's typically winded due to bad breath control and he ends up hitting a lot of flat notes.

As beautiful as the song was, I always thought Happily Ever After's video was creepy, given Beyonce's age at the time. As far as Case goes, "Missing You" is my favorite song, but I have to be honest with you, he wasn't that special of a singer. Just about every song he duet or featured others, he didn't stand out. He came close on Faded Pictures, but it still pretty much became Joe's show.
