As an artist myself I enjoy watching him work. I think people would benefit far more if you could hear him taking while he works - hearing about the choices he is making and why - basically hearing about his process as it happens as opposed to the atmospheric music. Thanks

This is always learning and beautiful watching him working mainly in demo short portraits, its amazing how he starts and make through the details very professionally. Appreciating out loud ❤️

I have never seen anyone paint like Casey before. He actually sculpts with his brush. What's magical, is he already has the measurements in his head before he lays the strokes of paint down. I had the privilege of doing one of his workshops back in 2010. He is one of my favorite artists!

This is awesome, i agree....Coincidently u may enjoy Bradford J. Salamon -an artist in California. He has videos on youtube as well. Very similar....Both, r great artists. Stay well!

I wish more painters saw portrait painting as a visual expression of the sitter like you rather than a photographic likeness ,,,,, you have a wonderful technique thank you for sharing ,, best wishes Stephanie

I took a class with him in Atlanta. The fact that he is diving in and hitting his spots perfectly is a credit to him. If he is off a hair, it doesn't look right.

How is it possible to continue to paint "wet on wet" and not have your main colours turn into a brown muddy mess!!! Always happens to me when I try to overlay my light colours over dark. Great artist and the uploads are very inspiring. Wish it made my work better though....

Are you using different brushes for the different tones? I used to have that problem. Also how much oil medium are you using with the paint? Use less oil and a little bit more turp/mineral spirits in your medium mixture and keep your brushes separate. Hope that helps! :)

Alia Kamal Many thanks for your help. Like many people I am going through a rough patch and have gone from some reasonable work to the point of giving up! I just hope the time comes when it starts to get better again!! Once again thanks for your tips..

sailawayboy I've been there! Just keep at it! Its about a hundred rough patches and then a few smooth ones! :)
