Here is our first tutorial in Blender! We made this one a doozy because there's so much to go over in Blender, and we wanted to give you something that goes over the main basics so you can get to creating! This crash course is over an hour and a half long, so get some coffee, a 3-button mouse, and prepare to make some 3D!

OMG! Excited! About 20 years ago I taught myself 3D using Truespace 3D and Lightwave 3D and became very proficient. After about 5 years I gave up and got into photography and recently have wanted to get back to 3D again (especially now with the new M1 Max computers on the way). I tried Blender in the past but just couldn't learn it as well as I thought I would; maybe my brain is getting old. But now there is hope! Casey was responsible for me getting proficient at Resolve after everybody else failed. If it wasn't for you I would probably have stuck with basic editing in Final Cut. You are a master teacher, the best Resolve teacher online IMHO.

Casey you're fantastic at tutorials, so this is pretty epic to see. I'd love to see you focus efforts on the VFX side of using blender to add stuff to filmed media. Tons of other great channels that focus on modeling, sculpting, and rendering. Have had trouble finding really good Video special effects tutorials/training though. Keep up the great work and excited for Blender content from you!

This was fantastic. I followed some other tutorials that were supposedly for beginners and they jumped straight into keyboard shortcuts and didn't stop to explain the why behind a lot of the things they were doing (like what proportional editing is actually doing when you move things around) or common ways it could go wrong. I basically had to pause and rewind every few seconds. With this one I only paused a few times, and some of them were just because I was being picky about the shape of my tree or something. This really helped me get a handle on things and now I feel way more comfy in the program. Thank you so much for this! (Especially the tip to use alt with the middle mouse button. That is a lifesaver.)

Good stuff. Very helpful video. Not quite ready to dive in. I'll wait for your next video with the next level of sophistication and complexity. Thank you for this. I've been a part of your community for over a year now. Your videos are very helpful. I started with your video editing with Da Vinci, and now I'm reasonably proficient, but I'm ready to build on my skills by learning about more than just the edit and render tabs. There's a lot more under the hood, and I'm sure you have and will continue to provide learning opportunities in these areas. Thanks for all you do. regards, Dan

I've seen a few people (in documentaries in particular) design cool 2D graphics illistrating something, whether it is text or animated shapes. Would Blender be the best tool for the job? Or would some other program (or even in the Fusion) be the best bet? Thanks!

Gotta tell you, your teaching skills are out this world my friend. I'm a total newbie in resolve and blender but I can follow and understand you well. Unlike another KZfaq called CG Geek. He knows his stuff but talks so fast. With no layman's term for what he's doing. He did the World in blender and it looks so photo realistic compared to the fusion world I've made. My idea is having a company logo in 3d falling to earth like a comet, going into Google earth zoom to 400mts where it turns into my drone footage. Anyway.. if you like the blended earth. I would so love to learn it from you. Take good care Have a great holiday Yours Loyal fan
