This apartment has insane views of Manhattan from its top-floor position in one of the coolest buildings in New York City. Its also in Manhattan, which is a major plus… as well as the major reason why I cannot afford it.

My favorite thing about Cash’s videos is that he shows the area that the apartment is located and so people who want to move there can get a feel for what it’s like to live there. Many realtors who are in New York do not do that.

these "crazy tilting windows"... we call them in Germany _Dreh-Kipp-Fenster_ ("tilt and turn window") and they are fantastic. You can open them wide to let in a lot of fresh air quickly (or you can optionally stick your head out and yell at others on the street if you want to show the world what you're made of as a Karen 😜, or put them on tilt to let in a little fresh air permanently, especially great if you want an airflow of fresh air between different rooms

Hmm... unmoved--especially at $3.8M. However, the Interior Designer did a helluva job with the interiors! K-U-D-O-S! Lots of pieces (ie that Secretary desk) and ideas (scaled relatively) that I absolutely loved and would/could use! But (for me), it's just a very (VERY) spacious box like a white canvass. There wasn't any character to the space itself. IMHO, there have been other spaces (and substantially less expensive) that I have liked much more.
@MamaCarola1
@MamaCarola1 Жыл бұрын
Yes I have to agree with you. For the price I wasn't really moved altho I liked the openness & north & south exposures. That secretary was beautiful. Definitely not everyone's style but I could work with it. Loved the kitchen. But so many closets & every single 1 filled to the brim. That's a lot of stuff & probably not even used. For the price I definitely expected more bang & wow.
@sinash
@sinash Жыл бұрын
@@MamaCarola1 Yes, that row of closets was impressive as far as presentation but even with your average celebrity it's just overkill when you come back to reality and everyday usage. Not a fireplace (real or fake) to be found. No cornices. No interesting room layout. It's all just massive space. I thought the views, while nice, were not "gaga" impressive. I actually like the view much better from that one-bedroom showing from yesterday.
@MamaCarola1
@MamaCarola1 Жыл бұрын
@sinash this is what can happen when you combine 2 apartments in2 1. Yes I did like the view yesterday but did you notice that with many of the amenities that they showed they had additional charges. Sorry but IMHO for the price they should have been included (I know totally off topic lol)
@sinash
@sinash Жыл бұрын
@@MamaCarola1 No. I hadn't noticed that, and I agree with you. At those prices EVERYTHING should be included. I mean... open the gym to the public but building residents shouldn't have to pay. For some reason I'm having "Mommie Dearest" flashbacks where Joan Crawford (Faye Dunaway) tells the Architect to "KNOCK OUT THAT BITCH OF A BEARING WALL" that was obstructing the view while her husband Al Steele (C-Level Pepsico exec) sweated bullets because the renovation/decoration of the apartment was driving him broke--which it did.

This is the second apartment I've seen that I'd love to own. There's not a thing that I'd change about it. I'd probably use bedroom number one, though the bathroom in the primary is epic. You show some really terrific apartments Cash, but so far I've coveted two of them, this one being the second. If only I had purchased a lottery ticket this past weekend.😢 Someone recently won CAD$60,000,000 playing the lottery I buy tickets on; she was too stunned to tell anyone about her win for quite a while. I wouldn't know that feeling 😂

Wait - 3.85M and no in unit washer/dryer? And to put one in you have to get board approval? I was okay with the price until I heard that. I didn't like the fact that the pantry was so small, but I could have dealt with that. The lack of W/D in an apartment that cost this much, however, is a deal breaker for me.
@TheCaptaininsaino
@TheCaptaininsaino Жыл бұрын
No W/D and despite all the built in closets, there seemed little space for coats and dresses. My major nitpick is that the 2 full baths are both en suites, meaning whoever gets the 3rd bedroom has to either make do with the half-bath (No shower for you!) or walk through the primary or secondary bedroom to get ready in the morning. Cringe. Other than that, a very nice apartment.

I assume that somewhere in the bowels of the building there are humble apartments for the staff. I wonder if they have to use the freight elevator when they come up to serve you. BTW, that chrome pipe attached to the bathtub is probably the overflow drain.

@Richard Vinsen it may sound insane, but staff studios do exist as an option for posh apartments. This is so you can get "live-in" staff while still being separate from you when you want privacy. Some households get them exclusively for the driver, while the housekeepers have their own staff quarters off the main unit's catering kitchen
@janish3059
@janish3059 Жыл бұрын
You need at least three housekeepers to keep that place clean. By the time they finished the last room they'd have to start at the beginning of the apartment again!! I don't know aside from the fact that it's quite huge and has nice light, somehow it just left me cold

What an awesome place! But at almost $4mil with no in-unit laundry already installed & you have to get permission to do so??? It's a great place on the UES & massive but what are the amenities the building offers? & of course what are the monthly common charges?
@sinash

You weren't feelin' it either. There were lots of things to like (interior wise) like those two blue chairs in the Master bedroom, the chaise bed, and what I found most interesting was the row of pillows (7:51), and other things but the space itself did nothing for me. That's A LOT of money to pay and yet not be "wowed".

@sinash
@sinash Жыл бұрын
@@theoriginalbridgetconnors That actually isn't as true as you may think. What's the old idiom? "Watch the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves." Most wealthy people are VERY cost conscious and there are very few of which money is of no object. Many of those who have had that attitude about money were shocked and awakened when there was no money left. Think of the Vanderbilt family as an example.
