Depends what city or state your in. I can smoke in my local casino but if I go 2 hours north to the metropolitan casinos I'm not allowed to smoke indoors.

My secret is to only go the casino if you want to have fun and not to win money. It also means gambling with a very strict budget with specific amount of time you want to be at the casino for. So bring the amount you are willing to lose and if you lose that amount or the time you wanted to spend at the casino comes up - you leave with no strings attached.

It’s fun to go. It’s definitely worth going to the casino buffets. You can get hundreds of dollars worth of crab steak and other meats and they usually give out vouchers for free meals so most of the time you’re not even paying for really good food! And if you budget your betting it’s same as going to an arcade or any other event. The problem is for people who expect to go to a casino and win tons of money. Gambling addicts. People who are simply going for good food free drinks and a good time it’s without a doubt worth jt

They are also very hard to navigate the first time you in one. You literally aren't able to leave. I asked a staff once to walk me to a certain room that was located in the middle of the hotel/casino and she walked me through 2 casino floors and a food court.

The payout slots are higher near the tables, cash counters, and buffet lines. This will cause more attraction eyes when the lights flashing and ringing noises during wins. Basically, where there is higher traffic areas. Slots in the back corner are normally duds.

Depending on casinos, lighting is either bright to mimic day time still, while others are relaxing and set a comfortable tone. Refreshments are brought to keep you sitting and playing and it limits the need for food intake. Slots are grouped right next to each other to maximize space, but also limit your distance to another game. (Watch as people usually slide over on seats)

Their layouts and reasoning for putting things in the places they are is DIABOLICAL at heart. Same way a grocery store puts the milk and bread pretty much as far away from the front doors as possible (this tactic isn't as common anymore)

I read somewhere the real reason milk was in the back was actually bc they’re loaded into refrigerators and it’s easier to unload the trucks straight into the containers which is why a lot are in the back / loading docks. Perhaps there’s fewer people drinking milk these days so it’s not much of a concern? Probably same thing goes for bread. Both high turnover items

Slot payouts are not " over time" The 85% example is define as for every 100 coins passed through 85 are returned. Then 85 coins passed through once returns about 68 etc. It's like negative compound interest.

Source: 10+ years in the gaming industry. and yes the things you mentioned in the video are all requirements for any casinos. Cardrooms are included also but sometimes they cant check off all the boxes you mentioned.

Idk if anyone knows this but the coin/dollar machine once you win big, take out your money out the machine & then put new money in the machine will automatically reset thinking it’s a new person so they can win. Example I put 100$ & won $ 527.82 then cash out & put my other 100$ in & won again in a few spins

Former dealer here: -Some casinos have the night or day sky on the ceiling.. it’s an Asian fung shui thing (meaning money to flow out of your pockets and into the air) -Apparently they pump more oxygen in, but I can’t prove it. (Makes u stay awake) -Free booze to take away your hesitancy -The loud carpet also help u to focus more on the carefully lit tables -Slot machine buckets are intentionally loud to entice excitement and are strategically placed -most dealers are unattractive purposefully so that u focus on the table (abit controversial)

Not sure if this is what you ment but when a casino pays out 85% that does not mean you win 85% of 100 spins it works by it will hit 85% ofthe time. So if your betting $1 and a hit for 35c that is part of that 85% even tho you didn’t win your money back it was still considered a winning spin

The slot machines further rip you off by giving you “wins” that are less than the spin itself So a $10 bet can often “win” you $2.50, a net loss of $7.50 for that spin This allows the casino to say they paid out $2.50, even though the $10 bet really was a straight up $7.50 loser Other spins may be $10 in, $10 out, which is break even , but great for the casino to say they paid out %100 of the money that went in In other words, the slots are designed to stack small winners to quickly reach the payout thresholds, then they take all of your money shortly after, while claiming they “paid out %85”

Many of the hotels are designed to have the exterior facade look like there’s fewer floors than there really is to make the building appear closer than they are. Like ‘windows’ are actually made up of 4 floors

Another thing i noticed is when it comes to lighting casino's like to use alot of reds, greens, yellows and blues, dont forget about the free drinks, and when you first sit down it usually takes awhile for the waitress to come by and ask you what you want.

They always make it bright where the exits are.. people tend to veer towards the darker areas (slot machine areas). Slot machines are tall so the gamblers get lost inside the casino. IMO they position the lower limit slots at the entrance and cashier cages so people see others winning, even though it is small, but still a great promotion. This idea is used everywhere even in your supermarket. That is why the frequently bought items (milk, meat, etc) are placed in the back of the store.

They offer FREE alcohol so U can get drunk n spend more on anything in their casino n they also offer FREE play n other FREE COMPs (like a FREE a buffet or a FREE hotel stay, IF they have a hotel) so that when U spend more using their rewards card, U will more likely come back. If/when U WIN under a jackpot (or any kind of $$$), IF U don’t CASH out quickly, U are more likely to dump all of your winnings back in the machines (or on the tables or wherever U are playing in the casino). It’s BEST to STOP immediately n CASHOUT n go home or leave right away, if U can.

Food courts nearby, “free” drinks, comps when you win big jackpots so you can stay to keep you playing your winnings, players card so they can log your spending habits and reels you back in with coupons and promotions, sends you 2 for 1 buffets coupons. Vegas wasn’t built from winners. How do you think they built these shiny casinos? If you don’t want to donate your money to the house, I’d stay away.

While gambling is strictly a statistical game, the casinos believe in luck. A hot run on BJ or Craps will have them changing out the cards or dice often to "break the luck". Noise = excitement = more gambling. The interior design choices are meant to amplify noise and concentrate it where they make the most money.

I cant speak for all casinos, but for all the ones I've worked at, they dont change cards or try to break your luck. There are days where all tables are hot, but most days when one table is hot the rest of the others are raking in the profits to make up wayyyyy more than what is being paid out. and besides real casino workers know the SLOT! make majority of our $$.

To better state winning 85 dollars, that is 100 into machine and for it to be longterm would have to be betting 25 cents a spin. Once 500 been played through you're supposed to have 25 left.

I was told by a floor attendant that the slot machine volume should be @ maximum. Also, the closer you are to the cashier cages, with volume maxed out. You can expect to win MORE THAN LOSING. So I tried it in Laughlin playing WOF and I won 700$. Cowinkie dink or not🤷♀️

Pay out 85 is pretty good compared to Californias 70. But you remember the slots are rigged in the sense the casinos make deals with the manufacturers to produce games that are heavily favored for the house. Best example look at the max bet on penny machines; they used to be really low but a full screen payout 400-1200 . Now the max bet on avg is 7 to 8 bucks and the full screen pay out even at that rate avg about 200 to 400 if you’re lucky.

The biggest one for me is when the machines rind ding and light up when you win less then you bet. I think this should be illegal. Imo a machine that hits any win should be at minimum what you bet. There is no worst feeling then when you bet 20$ and the machine lights up and makes all these sounds and then you realize you won 2$ and lost 18$. They should pay out min of your original bet to call it a win

I wear a watch and also got a phone. The whole "they don't want you knowing what time it is" is bogus. We make decisions big and small constantly. 90 deg turns turning on decision-making part of the brain when we otherwise would've been zombies is comically dumb. Most people look eye level while walking. You don't have to force it. And those carpets aren't ugly nor so ugly that you repulse away from it. Most people know exactly what they're getting into. You flew into Vegas. You know, where casinos are the main thing. It's not a surprise to anyone nor is anyone coaxed into gambling. Plenty of people who don't gamble at all while there but there to watch shows and do other things.
