Casio A1100 is disappointing

Bracelet is as bad as on Timex Q. Case is nice, but simple with very simple module inside. The watch is not slim nor has a good water resistance. Buttons nice, but annoying to use.

Let's not forget that it has no 24H. It also has a very underwhelming module. Premium watch but Casio dropped the ball on this one. And the bracelet is a hairpuller for sure.

It's not that important to have 24H is it? You already know if it's day or night by looking outside.

@@khazelnut it’s definitely a basic and expected feature for a digital module. Just showing a “p” would do. There’s no excuse unless we talking about mechanical complications. Casio does this deliberately to downgrade their watches so you never find the “perfect” watch from them and keeps you forever desiring more and paying attention to their next catalog. It’s the game you play with a cheap yet hyper successful brand like Casio. They can’t scalp you sufficiently off a single sale so they employ a different tactic.

Great review! Thanks for showing us what the watch looks like on different bracelets and straps. It’s a watch that seems to look good on anything. I wonder how the watch would look on a mesh bracelet, which is comfortable and looks great.

It has its flaws, but it's a superb overall watch. I love mine and it hasn't come off my wrist since I've gotten it.

I love the design of this watch it's just a disappointment the module doesn't have 24h time. When I first saw this watch my first reaction was: THIS is the stainless steel casio we've been asking for. I just wish the module was better and because of the module I feel like it's just a tad overpriced. I really liked how you showed off what a strap monster this watch is which is rare for these little Casio's. The leather and the red nato looked awesome.

This is a fantastic looking watch, but a pity that the bracelet is a hair-nipper. Even before that though, the reason I never considered the predecessors to this watch (The A100 "Alien" watch) or this one is that the day-date are not available at a quick glance. If I have to press a button to change the view to get that information, I am almost definitely going to end up looking at my phone screen instead. It's definitely a "me" problem, but it's one I wear a watch to cut down on. So time, and date on the primary display are an absolute must, and the day is a nice to-have.

I have this, it's beautiful. I felt the bracelet was very high quality, but yeah why and how it grabs hair the way it does. Really weird - very painful! But strap swaps are great on this one.

Thanks for your review. I love mine ! I never go deeper than 10 meters and love the bracelet. For me, it is a great watch and no, I am not an employee or paid by Casio. My only gripe is I wish it was not made in China, but the quality is very good. The only button I use is the light, and I also use my finger nail. I have tried a NATO bracelet and switched back as the bracelet looks best, I agree. Its my favorite retro looking watch.

30 meters of WR means it is only splash proof, not recommended for swimming. For swimming you need 50m WR, to dive 10m you need 100m WR. I agree, it is definitely one of the best looking ones.

Strap is fine. Times Q is way worse as the edges are razor sharp. The A1100 edges are slightly rounded, it’s still cheap but not the worst.

I was considering this watch for a short times. Because I like the look of it. Until I noticed that it doesn't have a 24 hour mode. Something that is a must for me.

Same. Other people might think that’s weird, but I keep all my digital watches on 24hr. Having one that doesn’t do it would drink me crazy.

I know ppl are down on the PRX digital, but I think the display makes better use of the real estate, and just overall it's kind of growing on me. It's just hard to find a low profile, well designed digital in steel.

PRX digital is underrated. So much hate from Casio-stans that a Swiss brand beat their watch God to making the perfect stainless steel digital.

Neee! This is just an awesome, Vintage Casio Gem! Even the Bracelet is good enough and ,as you said, very beautiful. My Wristhair doesnt get ripped out, dont be so harmful😅 If the Price is around 80 €, its perfect! Saphir would be nice too.

I only think the water resistance should at least be 50m if not 100m. And it would be nice if the date was already on display like in the a168w etc. Just these two tho. Other than that I think it’s fantastic.

The dumbest thing about this watch is that the module is actually able to show 24 hour time, the digit on the very left can be any number (not just "1" as you might think). But it just doesn't do that for some reason. It's sad that casio's stainless steel models are so pricey and still so shit.

I was waiting for Casio to release something like this... but in the end I've decided not to get it because the module is kinda meh. I already have the A100, which is good enough for me.

Again you nailed it. $150+ dollars and we are getting a watch with a press caseback and poor water resistance. The features of the watch are from a basic time keeping module. A metal alloy that while great looking scratches easy. The illumination and that orange tint is uninspiring also my model, when I pressed the illumination, the contrast legibility of the numbers diminished. Finally the look, the watch looks amazing, but with a terrible hair catching bracelet. You showcased so many other options, but IMHO they all made the watch look out of place. It is a watch design that looks cheap without its original bracelet. Great review.

all the strap options doesn't look as good because the original protrudes out closer to the actual case width. Maybe consider shaving the arm hair around the area of the strap. No one gonna see it if you wear your watch.

Why would you buy a vintage watch and then complain about its vintage issues? The straps we retro people had in those were just like that. This watch wasn’t made for Chewbacca. It doesn’t have water resistance?? NEWS FLASH! If it did it wouldn’t be retro or a remake. Know what you are buying!
