One of Casio's earliest and simplest models. And that simplicity gives it a certain lovable and even respectable charm.

Wow... the CT-360. That was the very first keyboard I ever had. It was a Christmas present from my parents, when I was maybe 12 years old. That thing gave me just enough to fall in love with synthesizers that I have built my entire music "career" around synth-based music. I started with awkward techno stuff, moved on to Industrial Metal and now tend toward an island halfway between EBM and Industrial Rock. Thanks for posting this memory. It really took me back!

I really like this synth. Fun fact: Beach House uses it in the song "Wild"!

Yeah Beach House really sounds very Casio-y, I love them for it, making use of cheap gear for some of the most atmospheric music

This keyboard was used (rhythm and tone) by Nick Cave in The Boatman's Call's "Brompton Oratory", one of his finest compositions, IMO. There are a few videos of him using the keyboard live. Goes to show that when you have the talent, know how to write and how to use your ideas and visions, you don't need to hide behind excuses such as brands and/or technical superiority! :) I have great memories of finally identifying, thanks to a friend, which keyboard he used in that song (which is my favorite of his and an inspiration to me in terms of composition, as I also write) - and then realizing that the very MT-520 which I just bought and was about to arrive at my door also had the very same sounds. Ah, it was fantastic when it arrived and I was able to reproduce one of my favorite songs ever, hah! Thanks for the video! It's always nice to see you giving these good ol' Casio keyboards some attention.

Glad you liked the video! That's a cool story too. I have to say I was stunned by the quality of the sounds in this keyboard. Even though it only has a few, they are really expressive and haven't been replicated in later models by Casio or Yamaha. I'll have to look up "Brompton Oratory". Gearfacts

I own the 360 the rhythm is "rock 1" in slow tempo and the patch is "human voice" there are some other models there its 360, 70 and 80. Which one Nick used ? is the 360 indeed ?

good review ... i guess you got the order of choosing sounds wrong: when the blue button is pressed and the LED lights up, the upper row tones are selected not the lower ones ... same with the rhythms too! :-)

I have one of these, I’m trying to figure out how to use the record option. When I try to record what I play, and play it back, it’s just drum sounds and no piano?
@gearfacts3 жыл бұрын
Try recording your melody an octave up, you might be in the accompaniment section at the lower end. You can use the whole keyboard for melody by turning accompaniment off. This is all from my memory though, I sold this keyboard long ago. The manual is still available online :)

if I quickly and several times touched the plug into the socket, then after a few attempts it gave different drums and sounds.

it doesn't have to sound "exactly" like what it is supposed to... it's a 30 year old keyboard... it's kinda like an old car... it won't be as good as a new one, but it'll have a certain style to it you can't get anymore.

Please help me out my piano dudes!! I found this piano in my attic, but it still works!! The only problem I have is when I press certain tones the “sample sound” it gives off when you first press that certain tone button, it lasts forever and I can’t stop it!! I can play the rest of piano with the certain tone just fine!! But the “sample sound” keeps going no matter what!! Unless I pick another tone that plays normally or turn it off. Please help me out, I just want to play my groovy jams!!!!
