The Casio Duro is probably one of the best value's out there. I personally like the 44 mm case. Easy to read dial. Good looking work watch. I wear 44 mm pilot's watches so I am used the size of the dial. Great for riding motorcycle because the dial is easy the read with a quick glance. I like the dependability of a Casio for work watches.

After owning a black one, I bought the Blue and Gold as well. All 3 have Sapphire glass and the Blue has a blue BluShark Silicone strap, the other two metal bracelets with upgraded clasps as per Jody mods on JOMW. Upgrading the glass is a great opportunity to pop off the second hand and re-align it if it’s off the mark. The Blue does have applied indices as well. It’s my go to everyday beater at present.

Great review. I have had my Duro for 6 months now and can concur with all your your pros and cons. I love this watch and although not the most expensive, my favourite in my collection.

The MDV-106B-2AV is simply beautiful, as is the EFS-S510D-2AVUEF, and the CB5010-81L, And many more that are blue/navy blue :)

Never expected this ridiculously affordable watch to be such a fave? (Hasn't left my wrist.) It and a couple more are going to get used hard sapphired and strapped. (Don't tell anyone.) A Classic.

Picked up about 5 now. Planning to mod three and flip two. Black dial/blue bezel (and vice versa) and steel bracelet/milled clasp with sapphire Crystal.

I own the 2 exactly same and they will still forever in my collection ! :)

Awesome review. Was wondering who owns the Marlin copyrights ? Casio could put a swordfish or a Sailfish on the dial and case back but the closest is the swordfish to the marlin. No copyrights infringement.

I believe the Duro on one hand is homage to the Rolex submariner however it’s very popular now and it has became part of pop culture,,,a Pop culture icon,,,it’s an imitation that’s actually a true original,,, Bill Gates actually wears one of these,,,people are going to AliExpress buying Pagani’s For $100 or more sometimes slightly less to get an imitation submariner,,,what they should be doing is looking at these Casio’s,,,you can get a sapphire crystal for about $30 on AliExpress and you can go to Bartons and get any watchstrap you want,,, AliExpress sells all kinds of bands and straps also. I seen a guy on KZfaq actually put a very extravagant Seiko band on a Duro and it looked really cool some of the metal bands from other higher end Casio‘s will also fit as well.

I bought a couple to store too. I think the real draw for these going forward is going to be as a modding platform. In the last few months there are more and more options for bezel inserts, fitted metal bands and sapphire, including double domes. I'm on the lookout for someone who's offloading the old white face one for a good price, I'd love to fancy one of those up. Unrelated question, what was the strap you had on your citizen? I've got a few marine nationale's but nothing with a clasp like what you have there.

I've had the black one, it's a good solid simple honest watch, I gifted to a pal in hope of hooking him into the hobby, He wears it everyday, it's taken a lot of knocks and has a great personality now, love seeing it to be honest.. however I did fail to hook my friend, he will just wait me out for another gift... hahahh 😁⌚
