I have been wearing this watch 95% of the time since 2012. It is still on original batteries and stays fully charged. The only time I take it off is to shower. The band is fairly worn out and I have a new one coming. 2 of the fake screws on the top have fallen out but I have some replacements coming for that. I have an expensive Doxa automatic watch that is beautiful but I only wear it for special occasions because I am OCD and can't stand not having my watch keep 100% exact time and be maintenance free. I also frequently travel internationally and am an avid boater. I have been looking to get another more expensive G-Shock, just because, but I can't make myself spend several times more than what the 7900 costs and still not have what this watch provides for me. If Casio would offer this watch in different colors and materials I would buy one of each. This watch is perfect for me.

dude that's awesome. I love hearing about great watches being used the way they were intended. The 7900 is such a great watch and it doesn't hurt that it looks awesome too. Don't fix something that ain't broke, so if the 7900 is still ticking then there's no need to change it out. On a side not, if you ever want to replace it, I would say you would probably love the GWF-1000(Frogman), or it's brother the GWF-D1000. They are perfect boating/diving watches with solid metal cases, so a logical step-up from the already excellent quality of the 7900.

@@degenerateWA Funny you should mention the Frogman. I just ordered the new Analog Frogman in blue. I don't need the depth meter and love the looks and function of it.

Really helpful walkthrough 👍🏻 I was looking at one of these in a shop today & came here for some review info. Your criticisms (stop watch/wristband) are the same reasons I still favour a Rangeman.

Just got this watch a few weeks back and really enjoy it so far. Another great tough solar, digital,multi-band 6 model! While I'm not a big fan of some of the G-Shock resin strap designs (the little protruding ridge section just past the lug), the little "wings" in that area really aid in the fit and allow it to conform to your wrist. I may still opt to head to Jaysandkays for some adapters and Crown and Buckle for a heavy-duty NATO strap. Guess we'll see. Thanks for the review!

I wish people would tell us what size wrist they have when doing a wrist check. How can we get an idea what it will look like on our wrist if we don't have something to compare it to.

Sometimes I mention it, sometimes I don't, it all depends on how my brain is working that day. I don't know if you've ever filmed a youtube video before, but for me, once I hit that "record" button it's like my brain forgets how to speak properly. Regardless I always mention the case diameter and height/depth so hopefully at least that's enough to give viewers a general idea of what to expect sizewise.

Should be fine. Fits my wrist easily and I have a 7.5" wrist.

I have an gw-m5610 and I’m thinking to buy one like this but I’m not sure .. it worth it ? I heard is more louder, better visibility, easy to pressing the buttons, I don’t know how resistant is .. pls help me somebody

If you like the form and function of the 5610 then the 7900 is not a far stretch from that. They both have the same qualities and same exact user interface. It's a great watch functionally, practically, and it just looks really cool which never hurts.
