I beg to differ.. titanium does by no means justify the 1-2k price tag. on ali there are full titanium mods for 100 bucks which i am considering for my GW-M5600. Either way i dont mean to mock you in any way. I hope you enjoy this masterpiece for the rest of your life.

@@Dionysor Old comment I know, but the Ali express titanium mods are still popular, although I don't think she should be. You're right that titanium isn't worth the hundreds/thousands that Casio marks it up, but the Chinese copies don't really reflect a true cost either. The titanium grade and DLC is likely of very poor quality, the supply chains and labour involved is murky at best and considering the shady activities behind counterfeit goods it's unknown just what is being supported. Casio at least have commitments and regulatory responsibilities to transparency and ethical supply chains. A reasonable cost is probably somewhere between the two.

What Sapphire face and what DLC? There is no such a thing on your watch but I am guessing that you realized that after 3 years.

That average person that has looked at the watch couldn't tell it was made of metal. There are a few polished points such as the edge of the links and on some points between the links, the watch however, is still very low key. It would work okay in a collection along side the GW-5000, my only concern being is that you would likely start wearing the GW-5000 much less.

I will take note of this and try to get a video up soon detailing the differences. I own the new frogman, and although it's not advertised as such, I think it has an STN display. An STN display has better viewing angles and has a sharper clearer readout with far more contrast than that of a regular display. I'll try and compare the titanium models the the older GW 5000 and to the frogman in my next video. To my eyes, the new frogman and titanium squares have very similar displays.

Thanks for watching! I first bought the Frogman about 10 years ago and regrettably flipped it. I came across it on Ebay. I purchased the one in the video from a member on the WUS forum a few years back and don't plan on letting it go again. You can still occasionally come across them on Ebay but the prices can be inflated and you have to be careful about the condition and amount of links in the bracelet.

As someone who has collected G-Shocks for years and finds the square models to be the most comfortable, yes this watch was worth it to me. Now I say this as an enthusiast, because there is no other way I could rationalize the price, as it is a little expensive for what it offers. Another way to look at it, is that these models are the closest you can get to a modern MRG G-Shock with an all digital set up. Like an MRG, it has the titanium, DLC coating, sapphire crystal, and bluetooth, while also being less than the price of an MRG watch. The watch has been very comfortable on wrist, and I'm saying this as someone who typically dislikes watches on bracelets. Overall, I'm very happy I bought it. I hope this answers your question!

I can't remember where I referenced the porter model in the video. I may have accidentally said TFC (the porter model code) instead of TCM (camo model in the video). I'm aware however, that the porter model doesn't have sapphire. I didn't know it was stainless steel though. I just looked it up and your are indeed correct.

I think the stainless models are great watches, especially if you like the weight. All the metal squares share the same module anyways.

I think the watch should fit great! My wrist is roughly 18.5 CM and my wife's wrist is far smaller than that. If you can get a good deal on the watch, I would go for it. I will give an update however. I got complacent (wearing it like a would a normal G-Schock) and scratched the clasp of the camo version on some rough concrete. The coating can be damaged, but it should be okay for casual wear. Hope this helps!

Its ultralight (around 46 g) because of the titanium and carbon fiber and i really like it. The CASIO GMW-B5000TB Titanium is the next on my list - i look for a good price and then i will get it. I think its a gorgeous every day watch. I think then I have a watch for every occasion. Greetings from Germany!

I handled the steel one recently and the plain steel model is the next best thing and possibly better in some ways.

@@onemoretime8045 i would pay extra for titanium and sapphire crystal but 1000 more think casio are taking advantage of the die hard fans love the look of the camo if it was under 1000 maybe

@@onemoretime8045 Don't use that wood backgound, the straight lines on the woodgrain are easier for the camera to focus on than the watches.

These are definitely pricey. That titanium can make or break a watch. The weight of the stainless steel models is just a tad too much. These are almost as comfortable as the resin models on wrist. I do agree the pricing is illogical but there are people out there buying them. Personally, I purchased these as an enthusiast. I feel that they epitomize the perfect square G-Shock true in heritage to the first G-Shock ever made, which to me is priceless.
