The #UAE craves #power disproportionate to its size. The state has steadily transformed from the Manhattan of the Middle East to the region’s 'Little Sparta’.

It's one of the reasons why Saudi Arabia has their Vision 2030. Mohammed bin Salman understood very quickly they can no longer rely on fossil fuels, they saw how UAE is now less reliant on fossil fuels. At one point fossil fuels were pretty much 100% of the UAE's economy, now it's 30% that is massive diversification of the economy. And MBS can see they need to diversify the economy as soon as possible otherwise they will get left behind.

Different to other of your videos, this one seems to have been quite sanitized. It seems more like an eulogy (UAE can't do any wrong, every action is justified and rational). It doesn't provide the critical view of issues as in other Caspian Report videos. Like the involvement in the Sudan crisis. Or the role in the Yemeni war. Always in sides that oppose KSA interests. I'm puzzled.

Maybe that's something the southern Yemeni government granted the UAE to get them on their side. The UAE involvement in Yemen was part of a wider strategy for them to gain a foothold on the island of Socotra (think it's spelt right), they seem to have a wider plan to make it a regional hub I think as a resort.
@sadafhusain2059
@sadafhusain2059 2 ай бұрын
Socotra has unique ecosystem and vegetation only native to this island. UAE as it does plans to turn the whole thing into a resort. Plus its position makes it a good strategic naval base. For now they already have a base there and de-facto owns the state. They even bought the people's loyalty by throwing cash. After that they pulled out of Yemen mainland. Truly the end justify the means for the Emiratis.

I don't think I fully agree with the statement "Politics, after all, has no relation to morals." Yes, there are mechanisms that help to approach a situation rationally, but there is a contradiction to be found in Shirvan's narrative. For example, one could argue that Arab solidarity with Palestine is not in the interest of Saudi Arabia. And if politics were amoral, why would there be Millennium Development Goals in the UN, like eradication of extreme poverty.

Anyway heres a brownies recipe Ingredients: 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter 2 cups granulated sugar 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 4 large eggs 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour 1 cup chocolate chips (optional, but highly recommended) Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter: In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add sugar: Stir in the granulated sugar until just combined. Transfer to a mixing bowl: Remove from heat and pour the mixture into a heat-proof mixing bowl. Add eggs: Stir in the eggs, one at a time. Incorporate dry ingredients: Stir in the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract until well combined. Fold in flour: Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour until no streaks remain. Add chocolate chips: If using, fold in the chocolate chips. Spread the batter: Spread the brownie batter into a parchment-lined 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake: Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). Cool and cut: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan, then cut into squares. Tips: For extra fudginess, slightly underbake the brownies. You can add nuts (such as walnuts or pecans) if you like. Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
