So far the most informative and balanced video out there. I break out badly from any coconut products. Even if they never touch my skin. My most recent horrendous breakout came from using an activate charcoal teeth cleaning powder that contained coconut oil in it. I’m getting massive painful pimples all over my chest and shoulders and upper back from it. My face isn’t affected. This time. I’ve taken unrefined and unbleached coconut oil on an empty stomach before and it dropped my sugar levels from the 90’s to the 50’s in half an hour. Apple cider,l vinegar, raw mushrooms, wheat grass shots, Aloe vera juice and cilantro all have a similar affect on my sugar but I’m not aware of it affecting my acne. There is a mechanism here that I’m missing. Just haven’t figured it out. But somehow it’s affected by the fact that I have a special condition of hyperinsulinemia caused by a neuroendocrine tumor on my pancreas called an insulinoma. A tumor that makes insulin. 10 times the normal amount. I’m trying to figure out the science behind how all of these react the way they do.

so the other thing I just wanted to make sure that I say is cetearyl alcohol and most of the emulsifying wax is are also coconut derivatives so a lot of times lotions that claim to be oil-free still use that impulsive fire and can clog your pores and actually capric triglyceride doesn't tend to clog pores because it's very liquid oil so just because someone can use that in their foundation doesn't mean that they can use like cold pressed or virgin. I think the general consensus is if you have acne prone skin let's go for a different oil than coconut because MCT is not the same thing as coconut it's been refined so it's only the liquid portion. I think if someone is having issues with clogged pores especially little bumps that never come up to a head they should try removing cetearyl alcohol especially. I love this post seriously you need this there's such a lack of education.

I noticed that the coconut oil just sat on my skin when I tried using it as a moisturizer- now I understand why! Thank you so much for this! I'm sticking with aloe and a basic moisturizer for my face (which looks better than ever these days), and saving the coconut oil for my hair and scalp. The only time I use it on my face anymore is to remove makeup, or cleanse my skin instead of using a cleaser/soap and water. I try to limit water on my face as much as possible, and haven't used a cleanser/soap since I don't remember when lol Before I shower, I put it on my face to keep water from getting onto my skin. Then I remove it after my shower with some homemade wipes that I made. My skin feels soft, hydrated and looks and feels the best it's ever been (I have a very rough face-skin history).

Hi, I would love to hear your opinion on an Australian skincare brand called Samson & Charlie. They have a face oil called 'The Gift' using blue tansy, jojoba and coconut amongst other oils. It is beautiful and it is marketed for acne prone skin as it is meant to balance your own oil production but not really sure if I should be using it? I suffer from adult acne and use salicylic acid religiously. Would love to hear what you have to say on the ingredients. They also make a vitamin c, pineapple and salicylic acid brightening cleanser which is great!

Does the coconut oil have any benefit to the hair then? Does it penetrate the hair or sits on top?

Good Morning Beautiful ☀️☕️🎶. At 59 years old I purchased the virgin, organic and unrefined coconut oil. I never imagined that I would love it so much. After MOHS SURGERY and surgery to repair-I will NEVER be without sunscreen!! I use a waterproof, tinted sunscreen and Coconut 🥥 Oil is my absolute favorite first cleanse!! Thank You for your Knowledge, Cassandra! I love you 😘

I also have a combination skin. I used it for couple of days and my acne became dry and rough. Like as if they are going to fall off. It definitely moisturize my skin but If I don’t apply it my skin becomes dry.

I went on a limb here and I bought coconut oil, I use it to shave my legs. I used it on my hair, big mistake lol! The next day it made my hair look like greasy! But I learned that since I put it on wet hair, it made it look like that. My coworker told me that she uses it to remove her makeup and it works.

this is a year later lol but coconut oil works wonders on ur hair. u should apply it to your hair before u wash it and leave it in for at least an hour (overnight works great too). after an hour or something wash it of THOROUGHLY u might need to shampoo twice. hope this helps lmao

I struggled with acne even as an adult. I tried all kinds of expensive treatments until I came upon a post on using coconut oil. I was skeptical as my face was always oil but I decided to try. After one week I saw improvement. It's now my staple moisturizer at night. I no longer have to deal with acne. Many people compliment me on my skin. They always ask what I use and my reply VIRGIN COCONUT OIL. Now I'm not saying it's best for everyone but I can proudly say it works for me.

@@mamtaarora7174 I have oily skin. But the coconut oil seems to control how much oil my face us producing and I definitely do not get breakout. I once tried rosehip oil but it did not agree with my face. Started to break out. Again it all boils too what works for you.

I have a question, so I make my own face oil, I don’t have oily face , I have dry skin, so I make my own face and body lotion made of coconut oil, vitamin E, a bit of tea tree oil. I don’t wear foundations just mascara. I feel after watching this I’m concern about my lotion.

My skin was great when I used coconut oil. The clean and clear cream doesnt so much for me. At one point it started breaking me out but that's only because there was contamination because I used that same coconut oil for my hair so the products went into the bottle and onto my face after a couple of months.

I’ve been using coconut oil on my acne for the past 30 days - I was really skepticism at first - but this really works!! I’ve had some deep scars for years and recent acne as well as pimples that just won’t leave ☹️ - but ever since I’ve used coconut oil, most of my scars have left and healed leaving a fresh new layer of skin and made my skin more radiant and actually decreased my pores!! I’m so happy!! 🥰🥰🥰 Edit: skeptical**

Hi Cassandra! First of all, I love your videos! As a fellow vegan, I really love your content because I know not only can I trust your recommendations due to your vast knowledge and science background, but also because of your strong ethics 🙌✌ With that being said, I have been searching for am effective natural remedy for acne scaring. My skin is super sensitive to acids and retinol, so I use them very sparingly and at different times of course. I have recently been looking into high frequency therapy for scaring and active acne lesions. Could you do a video on the uses/benefits of high frequency for acne and acne scars? Thanks girl and keep up the amazing work! ❤❤

Ashley Layton-Groves for dark marks from acne, Tamanu oil is a good spot treatment. I’m not sure about the texture scars, would be interested in a video on this topic as well. Adam Lambert seems to have gotten his skin resurfaced somehow since his American Idol days where he had very visible acne(?) scarring. Maybe we should ask him 😂. Celebs have the best of everything, it’s crazy when you find out all the procedures out there for people with the time and money. Sorry for rambling lol

My skin generally breaks out with face products that contain coconut oil so I stay away. I also breakout from certain face creams that contain caprylic triglyceride. Which is coconut oil and glycerin combed together (which I’m sure you already know). But then there so plenty of moisturizers with caprylic triglyceride as the second ingredient even and they don’t break me out. I tested out fractionated coconut oil because it’s supposed to be less pore clogging with the way it is processed and it in fact didn’t make me break out. It’s also best for hair as regular organic coconut oil can have adverse effects on hair.
