I think too much damage has been done. If Disney decided to change everything back to the way it was today, it would take YEARS before people would trust them again

I was in the parks in Orlando for three days in March. The cast members, except for security, were all pleasant. But at least four times, out of eight or ten interactions/questions, I was given incorrect information. The new cast members were either given very poor training or simple don't care enough to learn.

I went to Disney World during spring break, and it was almost empty compared to previous years. The place was a mess. Trash blown into corners and in cracks in the pavement, staff being dismissive and unhelpful. It felt like being at a local amusement park if not less fun. The prices were the only thing that still screamed Disney World.

Same here at Disneyland in California. It’s dirty and they don’t fix stuff like they used to. The guns on buzz rarely work, animatronics stuck in b mode, and the screens on Toy Story are usually messed up. I have a pass because of family and have gone a few times in the past few months and yet those still haven’t been fixed at all

This feels very reminiscent to how the D-files chronicled the failures in the animation department. Disney got rid of a lot of their veteran animators and story tellers and replaced them with cheaper but less talented woke staff. I've a feeling the parks will follow the same path that animation did. People will start recognizing the loss of quality, start questioning why they're paying top dollar for mediocrity, and then stop showing up. As with every wound Disney has suffered, this too is self inflicted.

My family and are not going back to the parks until the entire company changes. There needs to be more rides, no political content, no RISE program & maintenance to the parks before we’ll ever go back.

Watch the 40 minutes interview with legendary 2D animator Mark Henn who retired last December. When he should be happy about his 43 years in the company, he actually seems sad as if he's sad the company is going in the DEI direction. That's the feeling I got watching this interview.

I am wondering if this 50% new hire rate is only for the front line cast members or if it goes all the way up the corporate ladder. If so, it makes complete sense that Disney has lost its direction and is swirling down the toilet.

I had forgotten about the pin trading, but it was certainly a thing in fall 2000 when I worked at Walt Disney World. I don't think College Programmers such as myself were eligible to get lanyards, but a few fellow Cast Members had them. If I recall correctly one of the biggest things was that the lanyards and the pins on them did not belong to you (they were the property of WDW) and if a guest asked to trade you had to trade pins with them.

I was never a pin collector, though I didn't turn them down since I have a few and a Zip-lock bag full of various pins from all kinds of films and topics. My main Disney related collectible were floaty action pens. Those that had a windowed top half with artwork where a piece of the art would slide back and forth. I have Disney related 54 pens from over the years among my 1,188 of them. Unfortunately, the company stop buy from Eskensen Brothers many years ago, so you won't find the pens in the parks anymore.

Disney is done. Old Disney built trust of families over decades. You can’t now just make a good movie and think we’re going to forget Disney fighting parents, pushing groomers, and fighting Florida to force homosexuality on children. F ‘em.

When I did traditions training back in 1999, they explained tattoos were deeply upsetting to some cultures, making them think about things likevWW2 camps and gangs. And much like a one finger point was offensive in some cultures, so were tattoos. Just saying that was literally in the training then.

Totally agree! They're listening to a very small number of employees in high places and destroying what Walt built. It will never be the same and it's lost its magic.

Miss the past when Cast members were shining with charismatic customer service. Now you see cast member teens bunched up in a group chatting and laughing not paying attention to their rolls. But yet live entertainment has been cut dramatically in DLR.

Disney has always gotten rid of cast members after so many years. A month after I was hired, they fired a bunch of high ups including my recruitment chef. D U was pretty much then telling you how replaceable you are

I for one and totally on board with all of this because all of those veteran workers are now going to go over to Universal epic universe, and all of that “Disney magic” will follow. Lucky us 😁

Trust has been broken. So even if they tried going back to what they were the trust people once had in Disney is gone and it'll take time to build that trust back. You can't just betray people over and over and then expect them to trust you when you say you've changed. It doesn't work like that. If Disney changes and tries to back to it's core values people will still be watching and waiting for any type of deviation from that path. But any miss step and people wouldn't hesitate to cut them off. Walt worked hard to make his company one people could trust and Iger went and squandered all that generational trust.

I grew up watching Sunday nights Disney used to have that night a movie. And watched when I had cable X was Disney channel where Star wars Rebles would air. They killed Star wars and Marval.

Not only Disney has less experienced Cast Members, Disney has dramatically lowered the standers of the new hires (just to get them to work at the price Disney is paying), and relaxed/dropped a lot of their rules regarding the Cast Members. Lat time I was there, I saw Cast Members: 1. Unnatural hair color, and facial hair. 2. More then one set of ear piercings and gauges. 3. Tattoo, and visible tattoos of non-Disney characters (e.g. One CM, that was standing next to me during a parade, had a Tweety Bird down his leg). 4. Men play female characters (e.g. Evil Witch). 5. Far less staff, to save money, that is required to make your day special (Cast members are frustrated at the work loads, which makes Guests unhappy, which they take it out on the Cast members). The days of the clean-cut, tattoo free (of not viable), cheerful, and healthy all American Cast Member is gone.

So basically hiring political cheap workers who don’t know there job and removing veteran workers who don’t align their political and not devoted to their insane reasonings like when given a gun to shoot beloved disney characters and maybe other beloved characters from different franchises. Yup suspected this much

I'm a regular disneyland park visitor and i've never felt phone fatigue or had any issue with using my phone at the parks in actuality it's very convenient. No nickel and dime what so ever. . .

Covid has had lasting impact across the American entertainment landscape. The "Magic" is still there for all that choose to enjoy it. The changes to the season pass process and reservations, probably did the most harm. Greatly impacting Disneylands most loyal and consistent park goers. It will definitely get better going forward.
