Judy demonstrates HOW TO CAST ON AT THE END OF A ROW, SLOW VERSION. Judy Graham, Knitter to the Stars, who's knits have appeared in movies, TV, and concerts for over 30 years and who has been hand knitting for over 50 years. Visit the website for more plus celebrity stories. When you get to the end of the row cast on as many stitches as you need insing the usual cast on. Turn the work arownd and knit the next row as usual.

This was just what I needed! I’m knitting with an unforgiving linen yarn from a frogged sweater, a pattern that calls for CO2 at the beginning of every row. (Stockinette) When I did that the edges were unsightly and very loose. Working the cast on stitches at the end of a purl row was a bit tricky, but it’s so much neater. So thank you Judy!

Very good example on how to add stitches at the end of a row. How to I attach this row to the other end of the neckline. Knitting.from the top … connecting one side of the neckline to the othe other en and then continuing to knit in the round. Kindly advise and thanks.

You do it different to how I do it - I'll give it a try next time I need to add extra stitches :)

I also don't see what you are doing when you say that you are "casting on as usual" to start the 2nd and 3rd stitch. Sorry.

What is this type of Cast On called? Many of the videos I've seen just use the thumb to make loops on the needle that aren't secure, which seems too loose for me. I'm a novice knitter doing my first sweater and I am using this demo to cast on the underarm stitches for sleeves.

Hmm. good question. It's the cast on I learned when I started knitting forever ago. I use it for everything. It might be called the knitting cast on, but I'm not sure. Have fun knitting your sweater.
