For everyone saying Jensen/Dean looks uncomfortable. He should!. So much is happening in a short amount of time. He just learned about the deal with the Empty. Bille is banging on the door. He was not expecting Cas to be saying all this and then he has to process that he is saying goodbye as well as Dean processing his own emotions about what Cas is saying. It would be less believable if he didnt look uncomfortable. He's speechless.

I had only seen a clip of this that didn’t show Cas explaining his deal with the empty so I didn’t understand Dean’s reaction or lack of expression but seeing Cas explaining everything and knowing he did this specifically to save Dean, meaning Dean knows what will happen because of this confession, makes me understand it completely differently now. He doesn’t want to hear it because he knows it means Cas’ death.

It is really interesting that people are still discussing if it is romantic or bromance. Isn't it so obvious? He says that MY HAPPINESS WAS SOMETHING THAT I THOUGHT I COULD NEVER HAVE. Then he says that he understands true happiness is not having, but also saying and confessed his love. Does it sound brotherly love to you? If it is brotherly, why did he think he could never have? He obviously confessed that he cared Sam and Jack ,too ,but he cared all the world just because of Dean. Which kind of confession will make you believe that it is romantic? If a friend of mine, it doesn't matter girl or boy says the exact same lines to me, I would never hesitate if it was romantic or not. This confession guys, either one sided or reciprocated, but it is romantic. In the same episode, Jack was taken by Empty , then came back, but even Jack's coming back didn't make him feel happy, but the line 'I love you' made him the happiest person. Does it make sense it is brotherly? He felt happy because he hid it for years and finally got a chance to confess. He felt relaxed, renewed and ready to die with a smile on his face.

You can see that towards the end Misha/Castiel is showing his higher original voice, because it's hard to stay in character when you're truly sad. A lot of these scenes during the end of Supernatural show them crying, because they are actually sad about Supernatural ending. I always wanted a Destiel scene, but I never wanted it to end like this. There are only two episodes left I don't know how they are going to wrap it up without... The main characters dieing.

Misha just nailed this scene. When Cas realizes what he has to do you can see his heart drop. The pain going into the speech and the joy as he leaves the scene knowing he just saced the person he cares about the most in the world. Dean is just trying to process. It is not him being uncomfortable. He just thinks he can't lose anymore. He realizes what happened after the fact. That was very well executed. However, I wish we saw the talk between dean and sam after this. But they wanted to break the heart of all thoose who shipped destiel. So they skipped that scene.

Is something that I know I can't have." and "I love you, Dean." With so much pain and adoration in his eyes and take that as anything less than a love confession. Destiel is canon, you wanna take this scene out of context and say that this was just a bromance kind of “I love you” then you do that but don't get in the way of the destiel shippers celebrating the fact that after 11 years of sexual tension and not so subtle longing glances DESTIEL IS CANNON B*TCHES.

Look I'm indifferent to Destiel. I'm not for it or against it and always have been. I love both Dean and Cas as characters and I love their relationship. And I'm devastated Cas died. But it boggles me how that scene can be interpreted as platonic. I'm saying I genuinely don't get it not that I'm trying to force other people to change their opinions. All the people who say it's platonic just say is it's platonic not why they think that. I would love for the people who think it's platonic to tell me their interpretation of that scene so I can understand their point of view but please don't just say it's platonic because Cas and Dean aren't a thing. I can tell you clearly (I hope) why I think it's not platonic. By itself I agree that everything Cas said about how great Dean is and that he I loves him could be platonic. But Cas didn't say I love you because he was just saying goodbye (And yes I know he said it was goodbye) but because he was trying to experience a true moment of happiness to lure the Empty there and save Dean. He said he'd thought about it since he made the deal (so before this episode) but didn't know what his true happiness could be because the one thing he wanted he knew that he couldn't have. What was that thing and why couldn't he have it? Next he says that he realised his happiness isn't in having but in being, in saying. In other words, he's saying he could be truly happy just by saying what he wants to have. And then he tells Dean all the wonderful things about him and that he loves him. Cool. So why is telling Dean all that the equivalent of the thing that he wants that he can't have? Considering he already has Dean as a friend and brother? What else could he want but a romantic relationship with Dean? Which he knows he can't have because Dean doesn't swing that way. The only thing I can think of is he wanted to always be with Dean in whatever platonic or non platonic way they're depicting. But he couldn't cause he's an angel and Dean's human and their lifespans don't match. But he specifically says he loves him and not that he wished he could be with him forever, and anyway Cas could easily become human if he wanted too, so... And that's why I interpret it as not platonic. I'd love to hear how someone else interprets the scene as platonic. EDIT: I suppose you could also say Cas wanted Dean to know how great he is and stop putting himself down. But seriously, I wanted a best friend who thinks he's a wonderful person but since that's never gonna happen I guess I can be truly happy just telling him he's wonderful. Yeah...

Y’all castiels happiness was not only confessing his love for Dean but telling Dean WHY he deserves to be loved!!! I’m dying all over again.

I know a lot of people are saying that they way Dean is written in this scene is cold or emotionless, but honestly just look at Jensen's acting. The way he goes from confusion at 1:45 to disbelief at 2:46 when Cas is telling him that he is not everything he believed himself to be. And then you can point to the moment he realizes where this is going as Cas starts to talk about hell and how Dean has changed him, and you can see the heartbreak on Dean's face at 3:56 where he knows he is about to lose Cas. When he practically begs Cas, "don't do this" he is begging him not to leave him with this hole in his heart. You can see him fighting to keep control when Cas says good by, knowing that Cas loves him, but he can't say it back, because then he would have to acknowledge that he is about the lose the one man he truly loved. Dean is far from emotionless in this scene. He is accepting Castel's confession the only way he knows how, by trying to make the inevitable hurt less.

Amara and Chuck aren't omnipotent, so I placed that unknown cosmic being on here. Edit or Update: It's still up for debate if The Empty is stronger or not, Billie who has Julian Death's knowledge depicted that it didn't, Julian Death also depicted that it was as old as God or maybe older, which isn't true since The Empty overpowered Billie who has the position of being Death if Death is proved to be equaled to Chuck whose equaled to Amara, then The Empty is WAY more powerful than Chuck, Death, and Amara if Death is equal to them, it's also debatable whether Death is since all things come to an end, even Amara and Chuck who can die, who can also die, yes, but Death is the one who will always be there until Amara and Chuck are finally gone/dead. I cried watching this and i never cry watching tv shows or movies. I cried because the speech was so beautiful and the way dean feels about himself is how i felt about myself for years

To everyone spouting the "homophobia" or Dean's reaction to the whole thing, you're not looking at it the right way. First of all, his reaction to Cas's confession is pretty legit. Given the circumstances, God, Billie, The Empty, and all of the pain Dean was already feeling, it was the most accurate reaction. All of these things are happening at once and this angel whom Dean considers family, even another brother at that, just confessed his love to him would be alot to process. It makes it even more accurate with Cas first stating that he knows he could never have the true happiness he wanted because of who dean is. He knows Dean wouldn't roll that way but he still wanted to make his final confession before saying goodbye, he was contempt with just being in Dean's life. There's nothing wrong with the scene at all and in light of everything going on, it made perfect sense honestly.

I'm so grateful to exist in this world, I remember saying more than once: "I'll be happy if destiel becomes canon, even a little bit, I'll take whatever they give us PLeAsE" And here I am, years passed and destiel is real, I can't believe it. I'm shocked- like this is destiel guys. I'm so- and like yikes I'm speechless

You know what would be an even nicer symmetry than all this? Dean pulling Cas out of the empty (Or Cas pulling himself out of the empty because Cas always has to fricking save himself). Because Supernaturals big theme is second chances, I mean that was the whole thing with why they stopped Billies plan, because she wanted to reverse all the second chances that people got. What if Cas' story, which hit all the marks, the hand-print, the goodbye Dean, doesn't end there, because, Supernatural really is about fighting for the people you love and finding second chances. And if anybody deserves that, it's Cas. Also wouldn't it be way more awesome to end on a "Hello Dean" or "Hey, Cas" (you know before everything goes to hell all over again) It's probably not, everybody will probably die and the big thing will be Cas having found peace or whatever and I'll cry myself to sleep, but you know, we've been clowning for over ten seasons (and apparently that turned out right what the hell?!?!?!?) might as well do it for another two episodes. (Can you tell I don't want to get my hopes up?)

I have a theory that this scene was Misha's last scene and he wasn't only speaking to Dean he was actually speaking to Jensen. It's why his voice wasn't the usually gravel-ish sound we've become so used to hearing from him. And a lot of people say Jensen/Dean looks uncomfortable. I think he's confused because he's not sure where Cas is going with this spiel. When he finally figures it out and hears, "I Love You' it dawns on him what Cas is about to do. He couldn't figure out that Dean himself was the source of his happiness because he can't see himself as someone who can bring happiness. When the Empty appears, look at Dean/Jensen, his eyes are glistening with tears. Dean didn't say it back because he didn't have the chance.

I honestly never thought Castiel was in love even during he’s final goodbye and only afterwards reading online comments it finally clicked. I support the idea of Cas having romantic feelings for Dean, but reveal was poorly set up with no real clues during the many years and seemed like a last minute idea the writers had. I hope that Dean has a chance to respond to Cas by the end of the season some how.

This wouldn’t be Cas’ true happiness if he was just going to inform Dean that he loves him as a friend, Dean already knows that. And I feel like even if they were bad at it they kinda hinted Destiel a little reaching towards the end of the show. Dean isn’t as much a woman’s man. Like I can’t remember when we last saw him flirt with a girl, like he even feels weirded out a little at the Kareoke bar when the Waitress keeps flirting with him. And then everything with them splitting up but Dean saying “I shouldn’t have let you go” like, it’s a little. But it’s there. They’re having fun in heaven.
