Hello, the wife is commenting here. I'd love to see you work with the castle water pencils, I got 2 sets and I have been working through Hannas books with them to learn more about blending and making the colors pop. Id like to see how castles coloring book works with their water pencils. Thank you for your intro into this new idea of coloring book, so far, I like it. I'm just learning about color and different mediums including oil paint I have from my grandmother, which I have no idea how to use. I will subscribe to look more threw your site for the use of the castle watercolor pencils. I don't care to use pencils that are not for water as if feels to juvenal. The watercolors seem to bring about great satisfaction when water is used and see a happy pop of brilliant color. very addictive. am trying watercolor blocks too, I got a used set, I am not good with a brush yet and know little about brushes, so I'm just using a detail brush for tinny places that a pencil and water has gone over too much. Anyways I have a lot of castle watercolor pencils and want to get the best bang for my buck, I appreciate your effort and time. God job.

Just ordered the Christmas colouring book from castle Arts, I already have the Castle one. I have used watercolour pencils in the book which work very well. Looking forward to many hours of Christmas colouring.

I wonder who these are aimed at, it’s not like there’s a shortage of colouring books and the only one that’s really different is the castle one.

I think the Christmas one is a bit different with the 12 days, pull out cards and calendar, the fantasy pictures are pretty unique and yes, there are not many castle colouring books, but yes, lots of flower ones, even ones with artwork to copy. I guess they just wanted to try out a new product and see what the impact was!

I was quite disappointed in these. The completed images are obviously not colored, but digital, with a lot of photoshop included.. and the "drawings" are scans which digitally pick out the outlines. This very problematic as you simply cannot get anything close to the provided images unless you literally paint over everything with enough skill to reproduce the images regardless of the line art... and with the lines being so dark even that may be difficult. One example is the girl's eyes on the goldfish page, they are not remotely accurate, just random shapes the computer picked out. They are also quite expensive, at least here in the US at $17 each. I thought perhaps the price was justified by nice watercolor paper but it appears they are simply mid-weight cardstock. It will be a hard pass for me. Castle art actually has a large collection of PDF coloring images on their website if anyone wants to give them a try.

I do think copying the images will be extremely difficult, I have tried a couple of pages and made videos from those so you will be able to see how I got on when those come out!
