The start of what seemed like a handful of brake failures, a very sick camera operator and me trying some new things that didn't really work. Jasmine Norman and Philip Young have possibly the biggest crash at quarry corner in the last 10 years, the Formula Fords again prove that a national round should always be held at this track, and the Caterhams try and attack the camera at Tower.

Nah! Might have got a few bits of plastic to the face but nothing major lol. Those tires would have bounced off the spectator bank

Well I've heard that one of the drivers asked the regular there. But I'm not sure why as everyone walked away and again from an investigatory standpoint it's one you'd probably need to have around. Particularly when it comes to future safety installments like putting those foam bales there. Could those have lessened the impact, or would they have launched the car as they often do? I'd argue that's a pretty big question you could debate. If they've asked for it not to be seen that's understandable but there's a lot of people filming there and I suppose you can't ask them all. I did look on socials but couldn't find anything so it went in 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely huge! Failures are just the worst nightmare and sadly another big one to add to the collection this year. All ok though I believe?👍

Yeah both are OK. But probably one of the worst places that could happen to you

@@PescaraProductions yeah definitely, lots of places in British motorsport are bad for that sort of thing. I wouldn’t want the brakes to disappear down the Craners that’s for certain! I still think the UK has some of the best circuits in the world because we know how to go racing instead of driving around a street circuit in single file for 60 laps but it also means they bite hard!

@@TheRedhillwolf think in the last 2 years I've seen the brakes go in maybe the 3 worst places they could go. Redgate, Shaws Hairpin and Quarry now

@@PescaraProductions blimey yeah those are some horrible places to lose the brakes. Think there was one at Redgate in the JCW’s only a couple of years back if I’m right.

@TheRedhillwolf Aye that was a classic case as well. People forget just how hard that place is on brakes. Seen by far the most there in all the time I've been filming. Must easily be double digits

I was the only one stupid enough to abandon quarry for the day too so perhaps I lose as well. Really need to advertise these Motorsport video KZfaqr meetups someplace lol

That crash at Quarry was horrifying... thankful the silhouette wasn't any further forward or it would have been even more serious. Somebody else got slightly closer footage here but really something none of us want to see at a race. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aK6ErayozMynZ30.htmlsi=W7t0BZlxzj9Ur7EK

Aye that's a mate of mine who caught that. It would have gone in directly where I would have used to stand before that new fence went in. Glad Phil Young was able to walk away from that, but sad to see the old Colt probably finished off for good. Proper clubman racer in maybe one of the true last clubman race cars left in the UK

@@PescaraProductions Relieved that niether you, nor anyone else was standing in the firing line. Ya very sad to see the demise of the Colt... as a racer myself I know the hours of work that goes into prepping these clubman cars... and then the time. pain and expense in repairing/rebuilding after a shunt.
