If he held personal ill will towards the priest then his crusade wouldn't make sense. The entire point is that he blames ALL of humanity, so singling out the Bishop wouldn't make sense (despite it being largely his fault).

Even his son, Alucard suggests that going after the one(s) responsible, i.e. the bishop and his minions; would make logical sense then going after all of humanity; but Dracula is in too great of grief to think rationally.

I think she's had some experience with pain and that water is pretty shallow.

Does the blessed water only burn so long as it's attached to the main body, do the flames remain after the vampire leaves, just how hot are they? We don't know how it works. I don't think some water around her ankles for a second or two would put her in such agony she was incapable attacking Hector in any way.

@@Bluecho4 its worth mentioning that the bishops men were unable to ward the demons away with their crosses and holy water, (its implied because they were never around during night and had to rely on normal weapons) yet one priest in the final episode of season one was able to because, as i could guess, he was just gresit local priest and not a corrupt member of the church. so therefore it stood to reason that god would allow him to make holy water. i guess that the powers of holiness only work when god allows it to.

Moreover, him creating holy water during the demon attack could be seen as an hour of gravest need, and the Lord is said to be with the faithful in such times. Whereas the Bishop had become drunk on his own power, forgetting God or assuming the Big G had his back in all things. Meanwhile, the Bishop's men are implied not to be actual ordained priests, but common thugs dressed in priestly garments (one talked like a brute, and the other wielded a "bandit's knife" like an expert). None of them were fitting instruments of divine power, so they were not invested with such. It's also why the church - normally protected against demonic intrusion as a "House of God" - provided the Bishop no cover. The Bishop's conduct so offended Heaven, God retracted his protection, if only in the time it took for the demon to get in and deliver the Bishop his just desserts. "Vengeance is mine, sayest the Lord."

Its good that scientifical community today is more free to share knowledge.

In some Christian sects like Catholicism, if someone approaches a hypocritical priest, not knowing through any fault of his own that the priest was actually corrupt behind closed doors, then God might still use that priest as a conduit to give this particular person the graces that come with holy communion, confession, etc. It is sometimes said that God would not withhold his grace from someone honestly seeking it, just because he happened to unknowingly approach a corrupt priest, while on his trip to request the sacrament. I guess it might be considered a similar case in this scene, where God would choose to still use a bad priest as a conduit under certain circumstances. However, this scene could more specifically be a case of God choosing to retaliate against or taunt Carmilla’s forces, for thinking she could manipulate the power of God to her own benefit like any magic spell. God might have simply known that a river of holy water could play a key part in the destruction of both Dracula and Carmilla’s forces alike, so he played along with the reanimated Bishop’s ritual that one time, even though he previously left that Bishop to be mauled by Blue Fangs.

The body i don’t think was inhabited by a demon. It was still the bishop but tainted. I think the best explanation is that god really did turn his back on the bishop allowing the demon into the church, but in this scene god willed it because it led down to the path of the death of Dracula.

Nicolite I’m not saying a demon, but Isaac specifies that a forge master takes a soul from hell, human or demon, then places it in a body that reforms to suit his purposes. Hmmm maybe, but it was in service of carmilla who would have just taken over had Dracula died the way she wanted. Unless blessing holy water and consecrated ground are just two completely separate things that he still could have done up to the point of his death

The creators of the show can’t even be bothered to clarify if “The Church” refers to Catholic or Orthodox(since a lot of it seems to have a Catholic feel but the main region this show takes place is very Orthodox) so I doubt they really put much thought into why this is even possible... but yes it is a cool scene.

Dracula became a vampire not through a bite but the Crimson Stone and Alucard was born a vampire. Also apparently vampires have 1 natural transformation. Alucards is a wolf and Dracula is a Bat.

The white-armored vamps are Carmilla's, and she's using them to try and take over control of the court - and Dracula's forces as well. In an earlier episode, she explained that she was made a vampire by an old vamp who went crazy and senile...so to free herself from his control, Carmilla killed him before he took advantage of her. There was a flashback to where she flung the old vamp's naked corpse out the window on a spiked noose, as she said she would never subject herself to the whims of a senile, blood-starved old vampire like Dracula.
