true sadly i will never understand why often Castlevania games are so underrated the combat and the hardcore RPG system from Cv curse of dark are just too beautiful

Just this one in my opinion, Curse was too straight forward and forging was boring.

I have loved this game since it's release, and will always love it. And Michiru Yamane is by far my favourite composer for the series. I can't agree more with you.

i played this game since highschool, i still remember the duplication glitch where there is a hallway where the moon reflects the floor. there is a green flashy thingy there,when you walk to the green flashy thingy at split second, press START(open up your menu) and move using the analog stick to duplicate your items.and thats it(even money works) not sure if i "remember" properly.sometime my mind playing tricks on me(get the reference?). Anyways,that's why im gonna buy a Raspberry Pi 3 so that i could play my fave PS1,PS2,SNES,NES,GB,GBA,and many more. ahhh,how time flies.

It’s called getting a ps2 games I loved like genji Dawn of the Samurai , tekken 4, soul caliber 3, the mortal kombat games, dynasty and samurai warriors need for speed,Star Wars battlefront 2, Spider-Man 2 and now I got tenchu recently another underrated classic and I’m planning on getting other games like maximo1 and 2, onimusha games, chaos legion, shadow of Rome, timesplitters trilogy , way of the samurai 1 and 2 and these castlevania games, like man ps2 so good I might as well play well known games I loved like jak 3, kingdom hearts and sly on the original I got a component wich takes away bluryness and I want hdmi converter so it’s fully hd with no alaising

I wish they gave 3D another try in the PS3 era (no, Lord of Shadows do not count, I'm talking about IGA-directed games), if they managed to make these games surprisingly good with PS2 hardware and rudimentary tech, imagine how good they would've been later

The elementals are optional hidden bosses, I didn't find any of them on my first playthrough. Second boss is the Medusa head

However each of the maps have a number, implying that the game devs wanted players to follow a specific order for the cutscenes to make sense, also based on the specific enemies they are ordered in the Bestiary. However technically you can play and complete each area in any order you want. Despite this freedom of completing the 5 areas however order you want, the devs still insist on players going to the House of Sacred Remains first since they went as far as putting the map for it as the first pick up when you enter the "stage select" room. Don't worry, i got what you meant because of this run, but this was the order they intended to be followed. 1st: House of Sacred Remains - Undead Parasite 2nd: Anti Souls Mysteries Lab - Big Golem 3rd: Dark Palace of Waterfalls - Joaquim 4th: Garden Forgotten by Time - Medusa 5th: Ghostly Theatre - Succubus Also note that the cinematic cutscenes were only for Joaquim, Medusa, and Succubus, who are the last 3 in the 5 guardian line up, which does makes sense because as you progress throughout the game, Leon becomes stronger with the Whip, and the last 3 become easier to beat if you follow the intended order.

This Lord of Darkness and Gabriel thing is NOT THE REAL Castlevania :D Even Netflix acknowledges this and gave and Leon Belmont Easter Egg in the Castlevania Series season 2. An alternative/ Paralele Universe is Lords of Shadow/Darkness... Nothing else. The Real Timeline is far more epic.

What do you mean? The Lords of Shadow series are totally like GoW.

The series DID go in that direction. Lords of Shadow is just like GoW, DmC, Bayonetta. And although I enjoy that style of game, I feel it just become lost in the fray and lost it's identity. Much prefer the metroid/RPG style the franchise became known for (Symphony of the Night through to Order of Ecclesia) before they handed it over to western devs. Even Lament and (moreso) Curse, still had these elements.

Damien John the thing is many fans often forget CLOS series was helm by Kojima despite the more 3rd person hack & slash style gameplay and developed by Mercurysteam. I myself actually enjoyed it even with the reboot storyline (which fans mainly hate it for the sake of old timeline), hardcore fans were too harsh on it. Now the franchise is dead and Konami downfall truly sealed it.

I actually liked lords of shadow. It was a nice re imagination of the belmont-dracula mythos with a good plot and good gameplay. Wouldve liked it more if it had rpg elements but as it was they were pretty solid games

Dianne Renard Yeah, I kinda the same. I think it would be a much better evolution for the series if CLOS was like a mix of Bloodborne + Nioh + DMC4. Basically a faster moves and intricate combos with a lot of rpg elements in a semi open world levels that layered both vertically and horizontally (yep, you definitely should be able to double jump). I think it one the reason that I find Nioh is a great mix of Ninja Gaiden/Onimusha & Souls-like type game. Also, Darksiders 2 kinda played like that but somethings are missing in my opinion.

Order of Ecclesia looks really good. It is one of the times where Igarashi and Ayami really nailed the Renaissance-Baroque-Gothic-esque atmosphere.

Croz Raven kojima production was never involved in LoS's development, let alone kojima himself. in an interview it was explained that things went more or less like this: konami commissioned a castlevania game to mercurysteam but later revoked it due to how the prototype looked different, resulting in the project dropping the name castlevania. at a later stage of development, however, while cox was showcasing the game in a meeting, kojima was the one pointing out that the game resembled castlevania too much, and so the rest of konami staff attending at the meeting acknowledged and due to that, the project become part of the castlevania series once again. basically, LoS became a castlevania due to kojima's influence in konami, that's where the fabled collaboration started and ended
