Usually, competitive players harass casuals with overused statements and lame jokes. Somehow, pokemon achieved the exact opposite.

Casual pokemon fans either complain ahout the newest games, want to assault the pokemon, or say one of like two pokemon (because it's always the same two) are actually gods Comp fans do the same thing except less and with 80 layers of inside jokes added in for good measure

@@M.a.n.k.o It was one of the top posts on r/stunfisk which says "(Theorymon) Slowbro comes out as gay. Most other pokemon are accepting, but it turns out Ferrothorn is very homophobic. How does this affect the OU meta? Stinkpost Stunday Slowbro has been dating Exeggutor ever since late gen 7, bonding over shared experiences like being Gen 1 pokemon and having weird cousins from other regions. They decide to take it public. Everyone seems fine about it, but Scizor later overhears Ferrothorn talking about how that kind of relationship is "unnatural" and how "they're not even in the same egg group" How is OU affected?" And so it became an inside joke in the community about homophobic ferrothorn

A mod got really salty because his mon had a x4 grass weakness and up to that point nobody used energy ball jellicent. Long story short, the mod started to ban everyone, got his mod taken away and then energy ball was recognized as a viable option on jellicent

Someone fought a Pokemon Showdown mod with a Jellicent with energy ball as a move and got a 4x weakness KO. The mod proceeded to lose their shit and went on an admin abuse spree involving multiple bans.
