Here are ten ways you can make a small difference every day.
1. Carpool whenever you can! Or use public transportation. This cuts down on carbon emissions.
2. Use biodegradable and reusables instead of plastics! Beeswax wraps are a cheap way to make a difference and they make great gifts.
3. Turn off the lights when you leave the room!
4. Plant flowers around your home. Not only are they pretty but they attract pollinators!
5. Support your local farmers and shop locally! The USDA has a public list of certified farmer's markets where you can find the closest one near you.
6. Bring your own bags to the grocery store!
7. Recycle, donate, or reuse old clothes! With a quick Google search, you’ll find lot’s of DIY ways to reuse old clothes.
8. Support and use organic food and cleaning supplies! Pesticides and fertilizers are not only bad for you, but terrible for the environment. They poison the underground aquifers and kill pollinators.
9. CLEAN your plastics and glass before you recycle them! Recycling centers often THROW OUT dirty recyclables.
10. DONATE and VOLUNTEER at a reputable group that supports the environment! Here are some groups I follow: Global Environment Media (GEM) and Milky Wire
