CAT Pressure Washer good for Auto Detailing with FOAM CANNON ??

The foam blaster that came with the Cat Electric Pressure Washer is good for washing household items. But the stream is not good for auto detailing. I purchased an MATCC Foam Cannon ver III to test out if this Caterpillar Electric Pressure Washer is good. I did not replace the orifice on this foam cannon, it has stock orifice. Most less expensive electric pressure washers fall short in creating foam from foam cannons because they do not have the GPMs required by the foam cannons. This CAT pressure washer has the POWER to do it at a decent price and without the hassle and loud sound like gas powered pressure washers do. But with this, you get high pressure, high volume 2.0 GPM. I mixed the required amount of Chemical Guys snow foam car wash using only 2 oz of soap and diluted with warm water. I just learned that you will want to make sure you run the pressure washer after priming the pump full with water, run it in power mode first without the foam cannon attached. When you have purged out all the air, then you can connect your foam cannon and get lots of good shaving-cream-like foam with this pressure washer.

You got to admire the hell out of this guy. He’s self-made, works his ass off, puts out solid music and clearly has a blast doing it. I love it when good things happens to good people. He deserves his success - because he earns it.

June 15, 2021: I saw a video review on several pressure washers on the "PROJECT FARM" channel and the Cat 1800 stood out. Shockingly, the big box stores in my town don't carry it, so I'll be getting it from Amazon. Checking out dedicated KZfaq videos of the Cat 1800, I found your channel. This particular foam cannon was listed as a suggested purchase on Amazon, so I'm checking it out on your channel as well. I want to thank you for taking the time to produce and upload your videos so that we'll know if these products are good enough to buy for our needs. After watching the "Project Farms" review and yours, I'm sold! Again, thank you very much.

You are very welcome and thanks for the comment. It really does help out and I hope my channel gets bigger. I have been super happy with the CAT1800. I saw project farm's video the other day. And I am also glad project farm did that video. He is thorough amd makes really good videos. I have used the. CAT1800 on multiple cars and trucks and also around the house. I have 2 different foams cannons I use with it now. I got a cheap one also and they both work great. I will post follow up video with it. When I fill the foam cannon to about 80 to 90%, I even still have left over solution after cleaning even bigger trucks and SUVs, like our Highlander and Land Cruiser. And that's whether I use hard water and softened water.

Appreciate you doing a review on this snow foam cannon. I've been searching for reviews on it, and there isn't really that many. Yours is the best I've seen so far. I have the MATCC gen II with a 1.1 orifice installed. It makes nice thick foam. I've never seen that CAT pressure washer before. Looks to be a great unit. I use a AR630TSS myself.

Thank you for the compliment. The CAT Pressure Washer is pretty new, just got released into the market. I will be doing more videos as I learn and get to use this machine more. I had been looking and researching for a while for an electric that has good output for the right price specially since research shows that snow foam and auto detailing needs HIGHER GPMs than the common 1.2 or 1.4. The CAT pressure washer has been very good for me. I'll probably experiment with the 1.1 orifice for my foam cannon

I bought the cat pressure washer and I’m really enjoying it. I use it to clean my vehicles and I also just washed my siding and a concrete patio with the 15° nozzle. I did end up purchasing a longer hose and an upgraded spray gun.

Some people purchase the wrong pressure washer thinking that it will produce good foam from a foam cannon and get disappointed with the results. I took my time and purchased the right electric pressure washer that was powerful enough and had the volume required from foam cannons. Check it out.

I have been looking at different reviews and you are right. Luckily I found this pressure washer which happens to put out 2gpm and it’s perfect for creating foam.

Also, I believe you need ro add 16 oz of warm water for 2 oz of soap.

I use an electric pressure washer called Active, and I could wear that it’s the same as your CAT. They even sound the same.

Yes they are made by exact same company but cat is $25 more. So just go with the active. I also use active and it’s amazing

@@nickfort2701 i believe the cat comes with an extra nozzle and has a few configurations but it’s the same motor.

I just got mine through Amazon today but when I took it out of the box the bottom had oil is it still safe to run

You should contact the seller and ask. Because you dont want to over heat that if it doesn't have enough oil in it. It could break from overheating from not having enough lubrication

Does higher gpm mean thicker foam?

I think it's a combination of higher gpm and high pressure. That combination gives higher cleaning units. In some of my research into buying a machine, I found from pro detailers that they wanted a machine with higher gpm

It's holding up good. I use it all the time for cars and trucks and driveways, sidewalks. My buddy borrowed it to power wash his arbor to prep for painting.
