Red was right. The table should have made black trade the world for that sheep port, cause it’s basically unstoppable from that point. Also that mono was more devastating than going 4th to be honest

569 pointing to the 910 with 692. 1st objective is the 3-1 port then the 910. Tough position for sure.

This is what I saw. Get that 3:1 to offload the sheep, get to the wood port (5/2 if possible), then you're cooking. Would have been slow, and still an uphill climb (especially as you're living off 3 numbers all game), but production is insane.

6-3-11 is better than the 6-9-2: more brick, more ore, road connect option, and only 1 pip less.

10-5-2 is better because u get your game going earlier once you get the wheat on the 5. 6-9-2 gets the wheat but no ports, which without brick is an issue. Also it's no point stacking that much wood if you're not getting the wood port anyways. Once you get the wood port you can flip it for ore and start getting devs. they're both pretty bad but 6-9-2 is way 2 slow... once you get the 3:1 or the wheat you're 2 far behind.

@@odoacredacalcutta5085 I don't think the 6-9-2 is good either. I think the best option is 6-3-11. You get the 10 wheat on the 9-10, and the 3:1 port on the 11-12, which allows you to port both wood and sheep. You also get the road connect potential.

I think it was 5-6-9 road to 9-10 and 6-3-11 road to the 3:1 port.

I reckon that's bad...you double on the 6 sheep that has 0 value, you play off 5 numbers, the 2 most crucial of them are bad, you don't even get the auto road, so you spend 2 much time in getting your setup going. stacking a lot of sheep with 9-10-2 is instead better because it gives you solid chance of 4:1 it.

@@catanace1741 @catanace1741 that's not how you count peeps. you don't count the 6 2 times because you start with 2 setllements on it. hitting the 6 has still only 5 chances out of 36 each roll. so 5-6-9 and and 6-3-11 in total only has 9 chances ouf of 36 rather than 13. Same reason why you normally don't want to double your numbers, unless they pair on compatible resources like ore/wheat or brick/wood.

I think 4 5 11 to 8 ore is a good first placement Second placement i would go for 6 9 2 to the wood port

5,6,11 and 8,4 and trade to get sheep port? Would need brick trades/steals though but I think the board is incentivised to give you sheep port over black.

4511 to 8 ore is not winning. When 8s roll you get an ore.. black will get 2 or 3 ore and have tons of sheep for devs. You need to find a way to differentiate yourself or tabletalk into snipping sheep port. I would go 6311 to 3:1 and 9102 to the wheat.. 3 10 11 might be an open expansion in the middle letting you take road, or trade for devs with the 2 ports and do your best to keep the 8 blocked as you'll have 2nd highest ore, best sheep, best wheat

4,5,11 to 8ore and 6,3,11 to 11,4. Resources would be balanced and than 3:1 in 4wheat. With longest road and army.

I think as 4th position, 6 9 12 and 9 2 10 is the pick here. You need a port and you need wheat.

That basically only gives 2 resources though, wood and sheep. 12 and 2 just aren't reliable and may not roll all game. My thoughts would be the 9/10/2 and the 8/4 towards the sheep port. That way you can get either the wood or sheep port, or both if lucky. And a potential expansion to even more wood on the 6 wood.

dude, havent' even watched the video yet, but wtf did u do ? yes it was though pick but obviously the best choice was 6-9-5 plus 9-10-2 with the auto road to the 5 wheat and the wood port. yes, if 7 rolls in the 1st orbit and u get stolen the brick you're in big trouble, but even so the production is massive enough that you might 4:1 the sheep to get a brick and the 1st wheat. Instead you ended up with only 3 resources anyway, but shit*y production and a prayer to get brick and reach the 8 ore (which would still suck because you only have an 11 for wheat). I'll watch the full video later. __ clearly wasn't your game lol. Apart from getting th 4th pick with a barely playable setup, getting 4 ore from a 12 and then having them monoed away feels a bit like catching a train at the last second only to discover a few seconds later it's the wrong one lol.
