I think in game 1 second pick, the 5/9/10 was much better than the 5/6/11 to avoid blocking your best expansion spot as you pointed out, but overall great games!

Very well played. I will say, in 1 v 1 if you go ore wheat sheep strategy it can actually be advantageous to pop a couple times before you city up, VPs don't count to disabling frienly robber and you can get knight control. This means as soon as your opponent settles you can start just plucking the rare resources you need from their hand and there's nothing they can do about it.

3:00. A few cards don't warrant potentially getting blocked. You wanna come in with a bam so I would have roaded to the brick port and then settled or potentially 2 at a time.

I would generally say the settle is dependent upon how blockable a key resource is. For example when you have a single wheat spot that he can block with a 7 its probably worth it to wait for a dev card unless he is outpacing you significantly.

For the third game, 8 5 10 is good, but I would pair it with 6 9 4. You get ok brick, tons of wheat with a road settle on wood + the wheat port, and decent ore. Doubling up on the ore with way lower production seems like overkill.

2nd game was almost a massive blunder. I think he should've plowed to the 3:1 port w/ 3 roads at 14:50. Not a blunder there but he could've road, road settled on the 8/10 wood port which I do think was a blunder. 2nd blunder was porting for a city instead of a dev at 20:10. Army was still very much up for grabs and could've easily gotten it w/ the wood and brick port at that point. 3rd blunder was not using the road builder to go to 6/3/12 to wrap road around that side and make it much longer at 22:20. 4th blunder was building a road to the left at 24:02 instead of building the road down. That makes the road length 13 instead of 12 which did almost matter later. Very fortunate the opponent didn't sneak in the win there.

That second one, I was thinking you should connect by going below the brick rather than straight up to make a better road path, but was like "nah, it will never matter, that other guy will never take road".

Oof, rough 1st game. 19 vs 0 blocks is unreal.

Game 1: i hated the 5,6,11 placement for a lot of reasons, mostly because that prevented you from takeing the 5,6,9 and the 4,5,11. And you really needed that sheep. 5 and 8 are a plenty good brick:wood ratio, no need for the 2x brick. Plus you would force him to build to the 9,10,11 (which he ended up doing regardless... but you needlessly opened yourself up for a plow, and if you took the 4,5,11 as first settlement you would still end up with 2x brick spot) To me you lost the game when you took 5,6,11 and blocked 2 of your critical settle spots.

game 2 @ 25:43 if you build another road between 9 & 10 doesn't that give you 14 roads & LR since the road to the ore port also counts once you circle the 10 wheat?

Blocking your own 6-5-9 in the first game is kinda insane lol. Why kill your biggest expansion spot for no reason when you can get better sheep on 5-9-10

I've played against the first guy, grayshit several times. He always rolled more 7 than me in our games, controlling the robber early, which I find very suspicious. I actually think that he must be hacking or influencing the rng somehow in his favor, which might sound crazy but it happened so many times, and now I saw it happening to you as well. That guy should be banned.
