Even the unflappable Dandy gets flapped sometimes haha, although I don't blame you 😅 Other Catan content creators shriek and whine at every little thing (which I hate) so I really appreciate your content and logical reasoning, and your actual skill. Everyone has their limits and I'm totally with you on this one. Keep the content coming, I love it, definitely the best Catan content creator out there!

Yeah admitted I wasn’t thrilled with the last few games as I played them in one sitting and wasn’t in the best mindset or attitude. Im certainly not perfect in this regard and can tilt like anyone else. At the end of the day, I know these are placement matches and they tend to be chaos and unreliable in terms of skill match-ups. I am very excited to share future post placement matches as you see better consistency and plays from the table. Makes for more exciting and compelling games for everyone. Thank you for the understanding and support! Really helps when I have some of my less finer moments on video ❤

really gotta love your attitude. chaotic af players and yet you always try to see where you made mistakes potentially. shows how theres always room for improvement, even in games where youre already way above your competition in terms of skill

No matter how frustrated I get in a game, I always know there’s room to improve and review my play. In hindsight, holding at the end didn’t matter since I wouldn’t have got the rolls anyways but it’s still good to consider alternatives in a given situation

First 5 minutes were really funny with you being flabbergasted at every decision. Also at 18:30 my first instinct was to port for an ore giving you 3 wheat rolls to win with a city. Would that have been too risky? Anticipating 7s and them pulling your ore?

When playing against players that you notice are worse, I think you need to adjust your thinking as soon as you realize, and try to coax them into doing the right thing. You cant expect them to make good plays after you already observed the opposite previously

Why would the 8/4 be a bad placement by red? He gets best sheet and brick by giving up extra wheat that he doesn't really need. Also hurts black. Though I guess it would give you a crazy set up with the 11/6/5

It's funny, I think because you have a new account and are playing with weaker Gold/Silver level players, you cannot fully predict what they do due to suboptimal play. Makes for frustrating games where you get robbed to death when you shouldn't! EDIT: Regarding your three variations of side by side (@ 3:40 - can you upload a video with variation 3?)

any tips for playing in the center of the board?

It depends if you have 1 settlement in the center or if both of your settles are in the center? Ideally you almost ALWAYS want to have 1 placement on the outer ring pointing to the coast so you can get access to a port. No matter what setup you are referring to, you will need settle spots/expansions. Best if you send me a board so I can look at the position specifically.

There are a few errors here that turn the match: - Red taking army with 3 knights while only 2 other knights have been played. I think this is bad pacing and you should let others waste their own knights thinking they have a chance to chase army then lock it down with 4 knights. red would have been at least at 9 - orange going for road with heavy ore wheat setup and limited road space compared to black. i think the 3 and 4 absolutely screwed them over but they needed a city - eventually they wasted 4 roads and still got plowed to the 6/2

Boris - You are right! I was going through my game folder and realized the previous game’s footage ended up cutting out about halfway through and was unusable for the channel - So there is 1 placement game missing. I had labeled this game as “game 9” in my folder for organization. During editing, I auto chopped straight to analysis for all my placement games to cut out unnecessary space as I usually take a minute to organize my thoughts to do a post-game analysis. Nice catch! Future edits will include the ranked # for reference. 🎉
