Since watching you I have had fish biting on soft plastic lures. I was die hard Rapala/Spinner before that. Never realized a micro crawfish or twin curly tail grub hooked backwards would hammer them like that

I was just curious if you ever thought of trying any different colors of tube jigs? I buy mine through southern pro crappie and the variety of tubes is endless!!! My favorite especially when traveling through different states is white and silver glitter. I caught 3 of four species in a creek in Montana.

Tiger trout will display different colouration for a variety of reasons, the primary of which is genetic variance and allele expression. Since tiger trout are sterile hybrids of male brook trout and female brown trout, much of their colouration will be derived from that expressed by their parents. The silver colour in tiger trout is derived from their female brown trout parent, whereas a darker coloured tiger will derive its colour from its male brook trout parent. Some brook trout will also display lighter colours depending on their age and environment, just as browns will display darker colours for the same reasons. That said, whether a tiger trout will display darker or lighter colours usually comes simply from random genetic variance with a mix of environmental factors and stressors. Of course there are many other factors that influence the morphology and physiology of trout, but the main reasons are simply genetics and environment.

When you say splake, are you referring to Brook trout?
@polycaddis2925
@polycaddis2925 Ай бұрын
Splake are a hybrid of a male brook trout and female lake trout. Although they exhibit many characteristics of their brook trout parent, their forked caudal fin (tail) easily differentiates them from brook trout. This forked tail is one of the few major traits passed down to them from their lake trout parent. Other differences include slight variances in colour and vermiculation size, but due to the high variability of these traits, it is best to simply look for a forked tail.
