underwater footage is what makes it great imo! too many fishing channels but not enough footage of what happens on the bottom! great one!

It does add complexity to the recording and editing process but it's worth it. Most areas of the Mississippi River are not conducive to underwater recording due to low water clarity, but certain areas allow for it.

If I could only eat one fish from around here, Mr. Perch wins that competition. I just back from the lake and the ice got hard and slick overnight - still at 9 inches.

Perch are delicious! It is dipping below freezing at night so the ice is hanging on, but it is highly variable. If you try to walk on where it's shallow and muddy there is a good chance you'll break through.

Enjoyed as always. Ive never seen anyone grab the bever dam by the spindle, gonna take that one with me next time the tip ups get used. I'm a little worried about you both, NO BUTTER for fish sandwiches, just not right! Thank you for creating and sharing this content. TIGHT LINES

Do you ever catch walleyes through the ice. All the times I tip up fished down there I never caught a single one. Spent most of my time on spring lake. All the sloughs in northern wi , mainly flambeau river produced so I thought it a possibility but nope

I don’t see walleyes caught through the ice much on the Mississippi River. Every once in a while one will be caught in a deep backwater area. The walleye tend to stay in the channel and current areas throughout winter. This makes them hard to target because of the ice conditions.
