Hey - developer of Normal Fishing here! Thank you so much for playing my demo ManlyBadassHero! On my personal account I've been following you for years and you've always been my go-to for horror games so to see you play it and see all the positive comments from everyone here is honestly quite overwhelming. Im so glad people are having fun with it and as you can see there's a lot more to come! Also, there are a few more secrets other players might want to check out... Have you tried checking the Collection on the final day? And what's going on with that strange ringing phone?

The wife is like if you vaguely described what a wife was to an alien in 5 minutes and then they tried to replicate that based solely on your description.

If your fish needs to be shot, have amazing dodging skills, throws junks at you, and has amazing BGM, then it's not a fishing game. It's Touhou 14 Double Dealing Character Boss, Wakasagihime.

Honestly, the fishing style of this game disregarding the horror is genuinely a cool idea. I could see this as like a new style to something like in Stardew Valley.

His wife's dialogue reminds me of what it would probably be like to be married to Spamton.

This was a legit game on its own, I'm impressed that this is only part one out of ~4.5 parts? I was totally expecting normal spooky fishing, but this thoroughly played my expectations.

Fishman is a real one. Just walks around the lake with a shotgun, ready to aid fisherman should they encounter any peril. Giving you news and always making sure you’re doing ok.

If I had a nickel for every fishing horror game I'd seen, I'd have five nickels. Which isn't a lot but SERIOUSLY WHERE DO THESE KEEP COMING FROM?!

The way Mr. Fishman keeps calling your wife weird is a bit I'll never get tired of

"Normal Fishing" The Manly bait worked, after years of putting "Normal" in the title of totally "Normal" games, a game finally is actually titled "Normal"

The best plot twist was the revelation that this was a demo

I like how everybody else calls out the Wife's suspicious behavior. When Ms. Duckman has the eye-bleeding thing the second time Manly calls her, if you stop at the right moment, you can see that she's saying "helpmehelpmehelpmehelpme"

Man, the devs really know how to hook you in. The reveal that Normal Fishing was just one of four games that you’ll have to play in the full release reminds me of how Inscryption surprised you with its setting shifts. Looking forward to the full release for sure.

I just noticed the house progressively leaked a lot more of the black lake water and become tattered throughout the game

I love how one of the first thing the fishing hut guy says is how weird our wife is. Our non-response seems to indicate we are well aware of our strange wife haha

Fishing and horror don't go together too often, but when they do it's a fascinating combination. I applaud the creativity of making the minigame to actually catch the fish a shmup, that's just wonderful. This was a fun time from start to finish, I'm stunned it's just a demo. Fingers crossed their plans for the full game pan out.

I love that the uncorrupted games are actually their 'true endings' instead of the plot-revelation being the true ending something about taking that literally is so funny to me

Holy shit, this was a DEMO. This is amazing for a demo. This could've been a whole game on its own.

Finally, a realistic portrayal of the horrors of fishing! I've got the patience for it, but I was never good at the shmup segments.

Being serious: the pixel style is really good and you can see the effort they made with it. It feel similar with a generic something wrong with the townsfolk/wife and player is going to die in the end. It surprised me with the Inscription level of brain rebooting at the new game screen. Them smoothly changing the pov to a different art style and I felt uncomfortable with the knowing the boy playing will be in danger. Think the real life section could be a point and click style? Just a guess. Still I’m excited for the team making the game and wish them the best with everything. Hope Manly (most likely) play the game when it comes out

I love these normal old-fashioned fishing games! Wow that is a super-realistic fishing mini-game. "A monster almost ate me. The only solution is more money." I can see why you married her. Oh that's pretty neat, I was initially disappointed when they broguht in the "real world" because I was invested in the world of the Lake... but they made it clear that the Lake story is real, that the story of the people being... killed and replaced by the Lake probably happened and corrupted this game cartridge. Also I'm pleased to think you'll get normal versions of the game(s), because the fishing game was kinda fun.

Ya know, haunted cartrage in the woods was not the direction i thought this game was gonna go, but the idea of your spirit being forced to play the role of an NPC in a game, of slowly realizing you had your entire identity and sense of self erased to play some canned lines for a character without even a name... Thats genuinely a compelling horror concept. Especially if this goes where i think it's gonna go, with the spirits playing the characters in each game. Kinda getting "Ben Drowned" meets "NES Godzilla" vibes from the story so far, especially with the connection to seemingly a real life lake (and possibly a real godfish?) I do wonder who the wife and old lady were before. Like, the fishing kid's kinda darkly obvious, but those two are unknowns. Especially interesting since they're the two who each broke their programming first, and the game literally removed the wife when she was about to break the storyline.

I really, really liked this one. At first this game looked a little disappointing with the low-res pixel art and sort of tired concept but it quickly proved itself with some engaging gameplay and some legitimately great music. Had no idea where the story was going, even by the end, and the fact that this was all essentially just a proof of concept while being a well fleshed out game in its own right was really impressive.

Okay... this is freaky. Not only was I playin' a Fishin' video game, I was watchin' Manly playin' "Fishing Vacation" all the while. 😨

Anybody else notice that all the "godfish" spawn points were where those blink and you miss it corpse in the water moments were earlier in the game?

God the music in this game is outrageously good. I haven't reached the credits yet but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the music credits. I can't get over the music that plays during the fishing minigames it's just criminally good. Not to mention the visuals are top notch as well.

I am SO GLAD this is a demo I rlly felt like this game has its charm and it wouldve been a waste to end it so soon bc "spoky glitches tells us whats ACTUALLY HAPPENING woOOoooO"

I was not expecting the music from a fishing game (even a horror subversion one) to slap this hard. Spoiler part: From what the NPCs say and Mr. Fishman's story at the end it seems more like a bunch of copies showed up and killed and replaced them, but now they're remembering their original's memories and freaking out.

This game was AMAZING. I especially love how this is just part of the whole thing. For a demo, I am absolutely sold, I was originally kinda sold by how good the gameplay was, but this is just next level.

I honestly was ready for the wife to be the god fish because her eyes looked like fish eyes 😂

Soundtrack is a banger

During the fish catching, the music uncannily reminds me of Spectrobes. It was Pokemon, but instead of catching the pokemon in the wild, you had to dig them up like a fossil. It was a DS game, so it worked pretty well. Kinda miss that game

The fact this game opens with the wife just adressing you as "Husband" is fantastic! 😂😂😂That's legit how I talk to my husband much of the time

Normal Fishing looked fun to play and has good humor while simultaneously ramping up tension, the horror oozing in as the game goes on. Fantastic work!

Dang I think this is such a great game, it's simple retro but also refreshing and brand new all at the same time... it's everything from the art, plot, color scheme, and mechanics keep me completely interested and it feels really comfy , I am halfway through watching and these twists and world building are keeping me on the edge of my seat!!!

Holy, I've been watching this channel for so long. The sleepless nights of waiting for the monster to leave, I did and still enjoy it. I'm pretty sure this channel has helped me grow an exoskeleton. Keep it up man, love your work, your videos always pop up when I need them most.

This type of ultra retro graphic style always makes for the best psychological horror games, this was no exception, looking forward to seeing the full game.

I gotta give it props for original gameplay and music holding the whole package afloat. Purposefully imposing the weirdness can speak a lot for horror, but the silly weirdness ends up making the entire thing silly weirdness. Neat though.
