Here is a January 1986 episode of Catch Phrase. We're only three episodes away from the series finale, so Patricia hopes to add to her $2800 while she still can. How will she fare? No copyright infringement is intended.

I really wish Catch Phrase would make a syndicated comeback in the USA.

Aired the same exact day that The $1 Million COAL and Bruce Forsyth’s Hot Streak premiered.

Thank you for this episode! You can tell this show was paying attention to the current cartoons of the time with one particular catch phrase in the bonus round. :)

This would be Art James' last show as host before retiring.

+Chris S Not counting his stint as "Bob Summers" on the failed "Truth or Date" pilot, which was interrupted by the one of the contestants monologuing (and rather inappropriately) and the other contestants' personal problems interfering.

The last week of shows were unannounced as the final week because they were only the fourth week of shows taped. In reality, the last 20 episodes aired of Catch Phrase (12/16/1985-1/10/1986) and very few people know about this were actually the first 20 episode taped whereas the first 13 weeks (9/16-12/13/1985) were the remaining 65. Game play was the same throughout except the first 5 taped episodes where the randomizer speed was reduced and small prizes were offered to solved squares in the bonus round instead of $200-400 per square throughout and that the contestant had a choice between one of 3 grand prizes if the M square is solved along with at least 4 others. Lastly, all 85 taped episodes in the series were taped BEFORE the series premire on 9/16/1985 so Art James must have fun spending the summer hosting this show.

And just two days after the series ended here in the States, it made its debut in the United Kingdom, where it would last for 15 years in its initial run across the pond. Oh, and apparently, this is from KOVR-TV in Sacramento, based on the promo at the end (incidentally, KOVR is now a CBS owned-and-operated station).

The buzzer totally beat her, as she corrected herself well after the clock hit 00, but perhaps because the board op messed up and briefly stared the "win" flickering when they misheard her, they just said screw it and let it play out as a win... scaaaandaaall ;)

Those were interesting arcade games in the one bonus round package. I remember playing "Paper Boy" when it was on Nintendo.

This show is a favorite, and deserved a much better fate. Perhaps it required too much attention span? Maybe a different host would have helped?

I know "Ghostbusters" is a 1984 movie, which has Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis.
