Now I watched it all. Congrats on the fish of a lifetime. I caught one 15 years ago on the troll 40 miles off the beach in delaware. It's unreal to me these fish are here in the surf. I have a 26 world cat with new 200 Suzuki's in my front yard here on escambia bay just no time to go. Have you ever hooked up a great white.

Good shit im thinking about getting a blank from steadfast right now I have a 50 tdl as a starter reel other than the blanks what would you recommend

Hey! Steadfast is your go to blank and we would recommend going with an avet exw 80/2! Set that drag to 55 or so at strike with 200 braid and a short 200 mono topshot!! Then go to terra firma for your weights!

I've caught 2 around Catalina islands in southern California. They are very common there. Most guys catch them trolling big red rapalas

It may have taken 5 or 6 years for you to get a mako, but I’ve been trying to just catch a shark for 6 years and it hasn’t happened. Congratulations on that trophy

@@GulfCoastNation what reel set up you typically using... I caught my black tip on my catfishin rig my bait was on a double shot rig...my first of 2, the first was just nurse shark off the pier at st Andrews State Park never caught before then, it adrenaline rush

Thanks! Well we are going after a 10ft plus mako now BUT here is our next few Tiger 13ft or more Hammer 13ft or more Land based thresher Land based prickly shark Land based Goliath Land based sea bass We have all these and more in the works right now!

We harvested this short fin mako! Great meat much like swordfish! If we didn't plan to harvest this shark we wouldn't have brought him out of the water
