I’ve done this trick over many years. An Indian friend taught me this trick when I was in my teens. It always helped in training. Once you get close to the goal/ horse, look him in the eyes as you blow a soft puff of your breath to his nostrils. This gives the animal your sent. They will immediately sense whether to fear you or trust you, by your sent. I’m no spring chicken now.

That’s a really calm colt for his first time being touched. I expected him to be a lot more worked up in the trailer. I think he’ll be an awesome horse once he’s gelded and has some more time put into him. Great job guys!

He is a nice looking boy, pretty color and good conformation as well. During my travels I have passed by several reservations and been sad to see many of the horses look bad, skinny and bad feet as well. Also many just don't have good conformation either, probably a result of bad breeding. But this guy, well he is far and above what I thought he was going to look like when Alan said he came from a reservation. I wish I could see what all happened with this beautiful roan stallion. He is maybe the best looking reservation horse I have seen you guys get. It is now June 2023 and I hope he is out there as a cherished horse for someone.

This video just helped me out a lot at the end, I’ve had an untouched horse for a year and a half and I haven’t had the time to get this far or know how to do it but now I know how to. He was a stallion but I got him gelded last spring after I found out my mare was pregnant which was a freak accident! I’ve touched him a few times but that’s cornering Him in his shelter.

One thing that will help to trim the Roan stallion is to lead him horseback on a ride in some rocky areas or pavement. The hoofs may break off in their own. Just a thought.

The first pony that I trained when I was a kid was named buckaroo he’s a welsh pony he never actually buck once with me LOL And he was just like your horse never been handed an he would try to bite me if I tried to pet him below the upper shoulders. I just thought it was neat that your son was thinking of naming this new horse of yours buckaroo! I didn’t named my buckaroo he came with the name and I thought it fit him so I kept it 💞

I love what you do for those horse and I understand that’s there’s no water out there or vegetation. I train horses and the only thing we can do for a skinny wild horse is to give them pelots or total equine👍🏽I also train horses
